benefit is
apps, likely Google will add in different options for developers to be able to
port their existing
apps over or add in some kind of resolution options, so your same
app that runs on a smartphone / tablet will run a PC.
Since that whole Instagram Stories thing appears to be going so well,
porting it over into Facebook proper isn't a bad idea — it's just another
benefit of having a whole suite of
apps that you can pick and choose from in order to fine - tune the main money - maker.
After all, Silverlight
apps still work on Windows 10, so what are the
benefits of
porting to UWP?
A number of key Samsung
apps are pre-installed, including S Health which will presumably link with Samsung's Tizen - powered smartwatches, and one of the other key
benefits to Tizen is that it is very simple for developers to
port their Android applications to the platform.
ARCore can also
benefit from the work iOS developers have done with ARKit, if it's easy enough to
port their
apps to Android.
Earlier this month, Xbox head Phil Spencer talked about the
benefits that UWP will offer developers, especially when
porting games and
apps across Microsoft devices.
