"Bereaved children" refers to kids who have experienced the loss of someone close to them, like a parent, sibling, or guardian. It means they are dealing with the sadness and grief that comes from losing a loved one.

We will be exploring creative family therapy techniques and creative interventions
for bereaved children of divorce.
Participants will leave with references and concrete resources to strengthen their work
with bereaved children and adolescents, including ways to overcome barriers and create authentic partnerships with individuals and communities.
This support is provided through the delivery of two programmes: grief and loss support groups for children and adolescents; and adult training, on recognition and support
of bereaved children and adolescents: for professionals, para-professionals and community volunteers in the South African child sector.
The former is a uniquely creative compilation of therapeutic games, art activities, and stories to
help bereaved children express feelings of grief, learnbasic concepts of death, diffuse traumatic reminders, addressself - blame, commemorate the deceased, and learn coping strategies.
Implications of these findings for understanding the development of mental health problems in
parentally bereaved children and designing interventions for this at - risk group are discussed.
We'll be active on social media, promoting messages that
remind bereaved children and their families that they are not on their own, and support is out there.
