In reality, it
is often dad who
is hesitant
about resuming sex after
mom is good to go.
I've
been overwhelmed with all of the options (I do
better with limited choices) and, while I haven't actually visited any of the schools in person yet (I have talked with some
moms about where they
are sending their kids), I haven't felt peaceful
about the whole process.
So I just don't get the «too much pressure to breastfeed» when all around me
are images of bottles, ads for formula telling me a happy feeding makes a happy
mom, bottlefeeding
moms,
moms and doctors and nurses telling new
moms that formula
is «just as
good» and «not to feel guilty», women getting «the look» for nursing in public, or feeling weird
about doing it (I sure did)-- to me, any pressure out there
is NOT to breastfeed, or do it as little as possible (not if it
's not immediately easy or you don't love every minute, not past 6 mos, not in public, not around male relatives and friends, not around children, not if you ever want to go out alone sometime...)
Plus it
's all
about empowering
moms to
be confident, strong women and the very
best moms they can
be!

mom in the sense that you have limited time to deal with things, and know you
are choosing work over home while you
're working and so you GET THINGS DONE.
Dads do care but,
Moms care more
about the safety and
well -
being of their children, especially when it comes to tackle football.
If
moms take some time to learn
about their choices and take an Independent Childbirth Class (not hospital based) or read
GOOD books (not WTEWE) then they will
be in a
better position to have a positive birth experience which can empower them!
All we see in the media
are the extremes: from the legendary infants who scream non-stop with parents who calmly peruse magazines, to a mother of 5 - week - old twins who
was so worried
about being «that
mom» on the plane that she took it upon herself to create Pinterest - worthy goody bags to prevent ill will from adults who should really
be offering her a hand if they
were any sort of
good person.
Single
moms who
were strict
about their religious beliefs also had
better - behaved children, perhaps because their parenting style provided extra structure for their children...
