A firm believer in early training («Kids are the
best learners there are, and the older they get, the longer it takes to teach them»), Colleen had all the children swimming
by the age of 3, swinging golf
clubs, tennis rackets and baseball bats
by 4, skiing, bike and horseback riding, playing basketball and
football ever since they were 5.
Assuming that Arsenal
Football Club is about to undergo the major upheaval that the end of the Arsene Wenger is likely to bring, there will be some huge decisions to be made
by the new man in charge as
well as the players currently in the Arsenal squad.
Ive been supporting Arsenal for 65 years to say im dissapointed,
well words fail me Why did we let the window slip
by and not do the business in the begining get in quick and get our players signed and out as
well but NO we buggered about with the DREAMER for 6 weeks dithering with expensive so called talent and what we get another Frenchman, soon we will be able to say we have the whole french international team here The way to go is to boycott the home games and make it known the fans run the
club not the useless manager or the lackluster board who do nt know who plays for us and are not interested in
football per say just the money Buy Kroenke out and let him go as
well
That is was you have written and you call ME DRUNK.Ok how's this - Robert Pires was a
good footballer for our
club but the fact he had 237 illegitimate children
by 236 different womem (he quite liked one of them and they had twins) means he obviously wasn't giving his full commitment to
club and us supporters as most of his time he was tipping up any female with a pulse he could lay his hands on.I am also disturbed
by the rumours of him and his pet camel.
Keep this negative thinking
by the media and you would have no Arsenal
football club left support your
club through bad times and
good times it's the players to play
football not the manager
It was only in January that Mourinho was praising Shaw as being one of the
best left - backs in
football, as per the
club's site, but the mood and situation has seemingly changed significantly since then, going back to last season when he publicly criticised him, as noted
by BT Sport.
Sanchez has been built up
by the the British press and media (with the notable exception of Ian Wright) as a world beater who is vital to the future success of Arsenal
Football Club.To turn down # 60m for someone who is arguably past his
best as his recent performances for
club and country would suggest, is totally mad.
Santi Cazorla — In my humble opinion he
by far the
best midfielder At Arsenal
football club.
Lallana may
well be tempted
by a move to a
club that can offer him a first taste of Champions League
football as
well as the chance to battle for major honours but could also be reticent about moving to Stamford Bridge without any guarantees of regular first team
football.
Major League Soccer has made significant headway in improving
club football by expanding to massive markets like New York City, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Chicago — and in expanding, they've let in a lot of sensational talent that could definitely compete at the highest levels of European
football as
well.
Given that the England full back, or should that be former England full back, had represented the west London
club and only left when he had no chance of getting regular first team
football and had appeared to have represented Chelsea pretty damn
well when he was picked, one would have expected that he would've gotten a
better reception from everyone at Stamford Bridge, but he was consistently booed, albeit a minority,
by some of the home fans.
The former manager of Tottenham, West Ham and a host of other
clubs, Harry Redknapp, came up with the not so brilliant idea of our former captain Tony Adams who, as much as he is loved
by the Arsenal fans, has tried and failed to be a
good football manager, so we can scratch that one.
They (
by this I mean the board and Wenger) try to mask the idea of a successful
football club on consistently qualifying for the champions league because the financial benefits of it are what count to them due to it directly affecting their pockets in a very
good way.
Arsenal, as one of the
best football clubs in the world with brilliant performances in the Barclays Premier League, is the right partner for the Bank to increase business growth primarily in the youth segment
by becoming the first Islamic bank in Indonesia to co-brand with an international
football club.»
The
best case scenario for Arsenal would be a new Quality manager who is given 5 years to get this
club back on track because with our budget it will take at least 5 years to undo the damage done
by Wenger particlularly if you take in consideration the age of our squad, the departure of Sanchez and Ozil and the absence of CL
football.
We all know that money does not buy happiness (though it certainly helps) so the statement
by Manchester City which claims that Tevez and the conscientious Kia Joorabchian have been attempting to negotiate
better terms despite being the highest paid player at the richest
club in the world make hism look like the ultimate mercenary
footballer.

I think Wenger has certainly done a great job with this
club by making 4 - 5M Amounts of transfer in market over the past 10 - 12 years and employing likes Denilson and Diaby and Eboue but now certainly he has to accept that fans wants winnings... They are irritated
by listening that Arsenal plays
good football attractive
football, they have
good quality players but they just can't compete for titles....
Problem with academy players is that they are
better developed at smaller
clubs where first team
football is easier to come
by.
His manager was equally impressed as
well, as another report on the Arsenal website explains,
by both key facets of what is expected of a full back in modern
football, and that is without even mentioning the fact that Bellerin is like a streak of lightning and beat one of Theo Walcott's
club speed records this year.
Until we change our game style, formation, players that are not
good enough, spending policy so that we buy in all the positions we need, not just one, buy players with characters, driven
by success with lots of titles behind them, change our ambition to titles, not fourth, reduce immense ticket prices, stop being a business rather than a
football club, introduce younger members to the board or unbelievably somehow change the manager, I will not be convinced.
In other news, our team seems to be rounding nicely into form, with a productive off - season and several new additions already settling in, there seems to be a renewed sense of confidence in the air... our
well - oiled machine has conducted business again early this year, so we can just sit back, kick our feet up and watch all those other suckers scramble to make panic moves in the 11th hour... of course, we need to tie up a few loose ends but our team of savvy negotiators, under the tutelage of our faithful leader, will perform their usual magic with ample time to spare... I have to laugh when I look around the soccer world and see all those teams look upon us with envy and scorn as they struggle to mimic our seemingly infallible business model... thank goodness the powers that be had the foresight and fortitude to resist the temptations of the modern
football era... instead of listening to all the experts and simply taking the easy way out
by making the necessary improvements on the field and in the front office, we chose the path never traveled... we are truly pioneers in our field... sometimes you just have to have faith in the people that have always conducted themselves in a respectful and honest fashion... most fans aren't so fortunate, they will never know what it's like to follow a team that treats everyone in and around the
club as if they were an extended member of the family... all for one I say... so when you wake up this morning, please try not to gloat when you see rival fans pacing back and forth waiting for their respective teams to pull the usual panic buys, just say nothing and be thankful that it isn't you... like I've always said, this is why you stay the course... this is when the real benefits of having someone in charge for over 2 decades really pays off... have a great day fellow Gunners
Now whether these problems Stemmed from Mistakes
by Arsene Wenger or Lack of support from the Board — If signing all, or even ONE of these Players were genuine and realistic transfer opportunities — Arsenal should have nailed their Signature — The
Club WOULD NOT be in the Position it is in today if the board and Manager had put the
Good of Arsenal
Football Club BEFORE their OWN Personal & Commercial Self Interests.
Well said... Sadly the excuses will keep coming along with a stubborn refusal
by many fans to acknowledge that wenger is unable to adapt to a changed
football environment... The man said he would stay at the
club as long as he was moving it forward so if he has any integrity and honesty he would leave of his own accord... sadly all we will get is more existential drivel to justify his failure... Sad state of the
club
Let's get real here.It is very unlikely that ANY professional player will ever say anything derogatory about a teammate that has just left the
club.If Jack had said about Coq - «Grew up playing with him in the Youth Team and have fond memories of a player they though he had very limited ability he always gave his all.Very surprised and disappointed the
club never invested in a World Class defensive midfielder that we have quite obviously been lacking for a number of seasons and would no doubt have improved the defensive weakness we have shown over a number of seasons» we would have echoed his thoughts entirely. If he had said about Theo - «A player who should have been so much
better than he ended up being. He had everything needed to be a prolific player for our
club but I can understand the fans frustrations with his continued lack - lustre performances and total lack of a
football brain.I think this is
best explained
by the managers preference to play a player of such limited ability as Alex Iwobi in front of Theo pretty much says it all» we again would have all nodded our agreement.Although Jack never mentioned Alexis Sanchez I would imagine something along the lines of «If the Manager had not persisted with players with such limited ability such as Francis and Theo and instead bought the world class players needed into the
club then Sanchez would still most likely be here. The fans must wonder what the hell goes on at the
club as they pay fortunes for the privalage of following our
club but it seems the millions generated ends up purchasing a new Texas Ranch for the Owner or in a yearly renumeration of # 9million pounds to our manager».
the obvious fact is that the
club began to stagnate in
football terms a decade ago after the CL semi against man utd and has been in outright retreat over the last 3 years... some fans were calling for wenger to leave in 2011 - 12 as it was clear he could not cope with a more competitive environment others have been more tolerant, hanging on to fa cup glory and hoping that he would somehow self correct his weak and erratic management style but most now realise that is not possible and that the
club will deteriorate further under his management so also want him gone, that has left a hard core of wenger loyalists who are either fixated with the past (selecting episodic
good and bad times to justify wengers decade long failure) or too frightened of the future to contemplate a change (with selective reference to failed managerial changes
by way of justification) or both, to conclude, through a mixture of panglossian fatalism and corporate philosophising, how lucky we are to have such an honourable and educated man in charge... along with their confused references to
club loyalty and addiction to computer games these are troubled souls who need our sympathy and concerned medical advice... SO JUST F OFF STOCK UP ON CANNED SOUP AND GO SUPPORT ASTON VILLA ON FIFA!
We don't play improved
football, we don't compete
well, we get beaten
by small and big teams and players refusing to commit to the
club are some of the glaring examples of the fact that the
club need a change.
Although I've found it very cathartic to speak, vent and end occasionally rant about all things Arsenal, we need to act carefully and intelligently right now or we're going to get played
by this
club even worse than at present... the pro-Wengerites and the suits, who represent a considerable proportion of the season ticket holders, don't want to believe that there is no plan and that Wenger has mailed it in for several years now or that things are going to get much worse before they get
better... why would they... many have spent a considerable sum buying some of the highest priced tickets in the World... they want to have a front row seat to see something special and to be seen doing so, which simply provides ample justification for the expense and the time invested... to many of them, Wenger is the sun in their soccer universe... his awkward disposition, misplaced arrogance and his utter lack of balls makes him a rather unusual cult figure, but the cerebral narrative seemed to embolden those who already felt pretty highly of themselves... many might not even of really liked
football that much before his arrival and rarely games they weren't attending... as such, they desperately believe that Wenger, and only Wenger, can supply them with their required fix... if he goes, they were wrong and that's a tough pill to swallow... they would have to admit that they were duped... they will definitely resent whoever made them feel this way, but of course it will be too late
by then... so when we go overboard with ridiculous comments bordering of anarchy, it scares the shit out of them and they shift their blame towards us rather than at those who really perpetrated this act of treason... we aren't the enemy... we simply woke much earlier and the reason our comments have gotten more vile in recent years is out of utter frustration... in order for any real change to occur at this
club we need to bring as many supporters as possible with us or the big money interests will fade and our ultimate objective will be lost... so it's time to focus on the head instead of the heart for now
there is no doubting that Arsene has helped to provide us with some incredible footballing moments in the formative years of his managerial career at Arsenal, but that certainly doesn't and shouldn't mean that he has earned the right to decide when and how he should leave this
club... there have been numerous managers at each of the biggest
clubs in Europe throughout the last decade who have waged far more successful campaigns than ours yet somehow and someway each were given their walking papers because they failed to meet the standards laid out
by the hierarchy of their respective
clubs... of course that doesn't mean that
clubs should simply follow the lead of others, especially if
clubs of note have become too reactionary when it comes to issues of termination, for whatever reasons, but there should be some logical discourse when it comes to the setting of parameters for a changing of the guard... in the case of Arsenal, this sort of discourse was largely stifled when the higher - ups devised their sinister plan on the eve of our move to the Emirates...
by giving Wenger a free pass due to supposed financial constraints he, unwittingly or not, set the bar too low... it reminds me of a landlord who says he will only rent to «professional people» to maintain a certain standard then does a complete about face when the market is lean and vacancies are up... for those who rented under the original mandate they of course feel cheated but there is little they can do, except move on, especially if the landlord clearly cares more about profitability than keeping their word... unfortunately for the lifelong fans of a
football club it's not so easy to switch allegiances and frankly why should they, in most cases we have been around far longer than them... so how does one deal with such an untenable situation... do you simply shut - up and hope for the
best, do you place the
best interests of those with only self - serving agendas above the collective and pray that karma eventually catches up with them, do you run away with your tail between your legs and only return when things have ultimately changed, do you keep trying to find silver linings to justify your very existence, do you lower your expectations
by convincing yourself it could be worse or do you stand up for what you believe in
by holding people accountable for their actions, especially when every fiber of your being tells you that something is rotten in the state of Denmark

This tall target man tactic is too predictable and should not be used
by a top European
football club, but Arsenal still can not find its
best system yet.
i believe they deserve a raise but they can, t hold us to ransom, they shouldn't forget that their performances show that they are at the right
club with a manager that believes in them, a pretty
good team that plays the right
football, fans who love them, it would be nice for them to show loyalty and repay the faith shown to them
by arsenal it was not so long ago they were subs for their
clubs, the grass is not always greener on the other side!!
And what a SOB this Jamie vardy is, i mean obviously he knows this may be
well his last chance of major
football club transfer and he is now weighing up the option of staying or leaving
by telling his teammates he is will continue to be at Leicester.
of course no team wants to lose but I can guarantee you that the reaction
by the Chelski fans after today's results are nowhere near what would have occurred if we shit the bed on opening day... the difference is they have tasted EPL success on more than one occasion recently, they have won the Champions League and they have done it with 3 different managers in the last 12 years with a similar, if not smaller, wage bill than us... in comparison, we have been experiencing our own personal Groundhog Day with nothing to show for it but a few silvery trinkets that would barely wet the appetite of a world - class
club... so it's time for Wenger to stop gloating over our week one escape act and make some substantial moves before this window closes or I fear that things will take a horrible turn when the inevitable happens... living on a knife's edge is no way to go through a full season of
football and regardless of what side of the argument you fall on, you could feel high levels of toxicity in the air and that was friggin week one... I would much rather someone tried their
best and failed, than took half - measures and hoped for the
best
arsenal are the six or seventh richest
football club in the world with a record over the last 10 years which is matched or
bettered by clubs outside the top 10... so only questions are why have we underperformed and what to do about it... so far wenger not only has no answers but worse he does nt even ask the questions
I want glory — I pray for it in my own atheist way — but honestly not sure what the answer is — we appear to be stuck between two stools — on one the one hand there is the
well - run
club, Corinthian ideals, attractive
football, generally competing or being there or there abouts, being respected in the wider community etc and on the other hand wanting to join the new age idea of a
football club and «f $ % k this for a game of soldiers and lets just deal with this
by spending mega-money and sod the consequences brigade».
Even though the Germany international Mesut Ozil came back from his long injury spell to produce his
best football for Arsenal since Arsene Wenger surprised us all
by smashing the
club transfer record to sign him from Real Madrid, it is still fair to say that the jury is still out on our playmaker, both with the Arsenal fans and with the
football media in general.
As
well as helping Chelsea become one of the biggest
clubs in world
football, Roman Abramovich's wealth has also brought him a life of enviable luxury, as evidenced
by this stunning picture gallery of his $ 1.5 billion yacht...
we are a
football club and job of manager is to win shit and use the resources at his disposal to that end and we obviously have a lot... and the sad truth is most fans have not been hankering after wholesale changes just that if we sell quality players we should replace with equal or
better and we need 3 quality players now to fill gaps that have been created
by wenger
by selling some of our
best players
players like Ozil always present the fans with a bit of a conundrum, especially when times are tough... if you look around the sporting world every once in awhile there emerges a player with incredible skill, like Ozil, Matt Sundin or even Jay Cutler, who have a different way about themselves... their movement seemed almost too lackadaisical, so much so that it seemed to suggest indifference or even disinterest on the part of the player... their posture always appears somewhat mopey and they generally have an unflattering «sour puss» expression on their face... for some their above average skills are enough to keep them squarely in the mix, as their respective teams try desperately to find a way to get the
best out of them visa vie player acquisitions or the reworking of tactics... when things go according to planned the fans usually find a way to accept their unique disposition, whereas when things go awry they become easy targets for fans and pundits alike... in the case of Ozil and Sundin, their successes on the international stage and / or with their former teams led many to conclude that if we surrounded such talented individuals with players that have those skills that would most likely bring the
best of these players success would surely follow... unfortunately both the Maple Leafs and our
club chose to adopt half - measures, as each were being run
by corporations who valued profitability over providing the
best possible product on the field... for them, they cared more about shirt sales and season tickets than doing whatever was necessary... this isn't,
by any stretch, an attempt to absolve Ozil of any responsibility for his failures on the pitch... there is no doubt oftentimes his efforts were underwhelming, to say the least, but this
club has been inept when it comes to providing this prolific passer with the kind of players necessary for him to flourish... with our poor man's version of Benzema up front, the headless chickens in Walcott, the younger Ox and Welbeck occupying wide positions far too often and the fact that Carzola, who provided Ozil with great service and more freedom to roam, was never truly replaced, the only real skilled outlet on the pitch was Sanchez... remember to be considered a world - class set - up man goals need to be scored and for much of his time here he has been surrounded
by some incredibly inept finishers... in the end, I'm not sure how long he will be in North London, recent sentiments and his present contract situation seem to suggest that he will depart at season's end, but how tragic would it be if once again we didn't put our
best foot forward and failed to make those moves that could have brought championship
football back to our once beloved
club... so when you think about this uniquely skilled player don't be so quick to shift all the blame on his shoulders because he will not be the first or the last highly skilled player to find disappointment at the Emirates if we don't rid the
club of those individuals that are truly to blame for our current woes
Pod and Campel are overrated
by Arsenal fans and
better for their career and development to find other
club... Hayden and Bellerin still need time to develop as EPL
footballers... The 2nd goal should be denied
by Ospina, but let's not judge him
by only one match... Wenger era is over.....
No
club has a divine right to stay at the top and those
clubs which have done so, do so because they are
well run
by real professionals who keep themselves abreast of what is going on in the
football world RIGHT NOW.
