good in it, we did nt need the other girl
characters, which is sad to say, but eh, this was always about the guys so who cares?).
While Iron Man bounced back with Iron Man 3 and Captain America flourished with his own trilogy of
films, Thor was left behind; a
character that, like Hulk, seemed
best utilized
in team - up movies.
The humor is funny and fits the
film well, the
characters are all memorable
in their own ways, and the art style is very unique and fits the
film well.
Hannah was given too little to do
in the first
film, and she does her very
best to make Tarantino's samey, show - off, adolescent dialogue feel as though it could have come from her

While the choreography is generally fairly minimal (at least for this sort of mega-production), first time
film director Phyllida Lloyd (who helmed the original stage version) has woven together a tightly edited and exceedingly
well shot
film that capitalizes on the music wonderfully while never worrying too much about such nettlesome items as
character or motivation, providing enough other movement that one ultimately doesn't miss huge dance numbers a la Robbins or Fosse that much
in the long run.
Heather herself is also a likable
character and is
well acted by Adelaide Clemens, who I expect to see
in more
films in the near future.
In other words, he's much
better at effects - laden set - pieces than
character drama, and this
film is crying out for more of the latter.
They're all impressive - large,
well engineered monstrosities with actors thinking and acting
in ways that humans never think or act - and not one of them has the pure humanistic love that this
film has for its
characters and for people
in general.
What this
film seriously lacks
in a coherent and discernable plot and
character development, it more than makes up for it with tons of style, great cinematography, and
well - placed tension.
The interacting with Killmonger and the secondary
character and the final few scenes that he and T'Challa get to spend together are honestly some of the
best moments from any of these
films in a very long time.
The same goes for the various villains, who behave as if
in a comedy; rather than scripting the
film to lighten up on the seriousness, the
characters must betray normalcy to
better fit insincere resolutions.
There is something of an emotional commitment brought to the storyline by the
characters in this
film, which really comes across
well on screen.
