Elementary children at the least equipped to deal
with, and get help for, any issues of mental health, especially
in dysfunctional
homes that aren't the «worst of the worst»... there is likely a
better chance the
kid getting beaten black and blue will get notices (but not necessarily, sadly), then the child that is being psychologically or emotionally abused.

with never - babies inside, and I see us holding the now - growing - up babies as they learn to walk, and I see him looking at me across our old bed that he built
with his own hands and I see us as
kids and I see us as lovers and I see us as
best friends, and I see us just last night as we staggered through a sleepless night
with lanky
kids who couldn't sleep
well and I think, God, we grew up together.
Well I think having more than two
kids is disordered as is living
in a
home with more bedrooms than people.

We found the separate bedroom / sitting room layout (didn't see this advertised anywhere else) is especially
good for families
with younger
kids (or for dads or moms who like to come
home later and don't want to wake everyone up on the way
in!).
Given that, I can see that a huge swath of society would feel a whole lot
better if women would just get
with the program like their moms did — marry, stay at
home and manage the
kids while bringing
in some income.
But I still think the little monsters are a PITA and though I will never shirk
in my responsibility to care for them and will mourn them when they do go, the thought of having a pet free
home is blissful, they will NOT be replaced until I am
well done
with babies and the
kids are MUCH older.
And to me, that «s the proof
in the pudding: not a quiet
home or
well - behaved toddlers, or preschoolers
with consistently
good table manners or school
kids who always speak respectfully, or teenagers who never lash out or young adults who never make mistakes, but a family
in which everybody is encouraged to be the
best possible version of him or herself.

in her excellent article that if we continue to feed them junk food and don't collectively teach our

home and at school, about the joys and benefits of eating real food, children will pick the crap over the
good stuff when given the choice.
I hope that one day we will, but I'm OK
with staying
home with my
kids most nights if it gives me the peace of mind knowing that they are
in good hands.

kids right now, and I homeschool, but when they are grown I will probably go back to school, and obstetrics is a field I've considered just so that maybe I can make a bit of a
good difference, and give women the
best of both worlds (like a water birth,

with a doula or midwife
with an OB on staff or back up
in case something went wrong.)
