of animal products means that, one
meal at a time, you're consciously choosing to live a greener,
kinder life, and who doesn't want to make the world we live in a
better place?
Or if you're more
of a
meal - prep - forever
kind of person, this bread freezes really
well.
And it has adapted
well to any other
kind of nut or seed
meal I have tried so far.
It's a little bit like a throw - all - the -
good - contents - from - the - fridge - into - a-container and it will no doubt taste delicious
kind of meal.
The menu is pretty small, which I usually find is a
good thing, because it means the kitchen is not trying to do a hundred different things; instead they are focused on doing one
kind of thing very
well, and it usually results in a much
better meal.
Cranachan Made Simple: I've made cranachan for years, but, while the recipe was never quite the same from
meal to
meal, it wasn't until I came across a recipe for «Cranachan Trifle «from BBC
Good Food that I tried sweetening the toasted oats, making a
kind of granola, rather than adding a lot more honey -LSB-...]
I grew up with Black Eyed Peas and Ham on New Year's Day (my grandparents were from Louisiana), and the last few years I've really missed the simplicity and
good wishes
of this
kind of traditional celebratory
meal.
I think every
good meal should have a starch
of some
kind, whether that's some
kind of bread, pasta, rice, potato, you know what I mean.
What a
better way to say goodbye to the greasy spoons (just for a little bit) and back to my very favorite
kind of meals like this potato and vegetable hash.
A goat cheese or any -
kind -
of - cheese soufflé, with a seasonal vegetable and some
good bread can be a mostly local
meal.
It goes with just about any
kind of meal and is
good year around.
People are all about eating lighter, healthier
meals and I am all about that right now as
well (
well, I
kind of always was but moreso now;)-RRB-.
This week, I got lucky, as a bunch
of recipes were just on the forefront
of my mind, so I knew what
kind of meat to buy, and I'm guessing we'll do
better with produce next week, as we know what to expect (lots
of greens) and can
meal plan a bit
better.
I'm about as Southern as they get coming from Miss» sippi I was born and raised on
good ol' country cooking and I do love a
good Sunday dinner spread, but I try to limit those
kinds of «stick to ya ribs»
meals for special occasions.
I usually make this in the winter, it's a
good stick to the ribs
kind of meal.
The noodles (first photo) had a light sauce stirred in a couple
of hours before the
meal, and then were served with variety
of toppings at the table (see below), as
well as extra sauce — a
kind of DIY - Asian - Noodle Salad.
This sounds and looks so
good, the
kind of meal I could eat everyday.
Just dropping in to share the
kind of recipe you, too, might make if you found yourself on a Thursday with a reasonably
well stocked pantry, a lot
of kale (or other greens you picked up at the farmers» market back on Saturday), and two sweet Italian sausages that you bought from the very same farmers» market for way too many dollars and which are threatening to go bad if you don't find a way to integrate them into this week's
meal plan, a
meal plan that has already incorporated more meat than you really like to eat.
It's the
kind of meal that's completely unpretentious — just healthy, hearty and fulfilling like some
of the
best meals are.
And speaking
of the filling... oh em gee... pancetta, onions, mushrooms, bread crumbs, two
kinds of cheeses... the filling is so
good I could have made a
meal out
of that alone.
You can also eat it with fresh mango, or some
kind of mango salsa; although mango contains a lot
of sugar, and like any fruit, is
best eaten by itself as a snack, rather than as part
of a
meal.
Cooking a big pot
of beans on a Sunday is always a
good idea, since you will then have a solid base for all
kinds of meals throughout the week.
This
kind of gazpacho is sustaining, packed with that
good -
good olive oil fat, enough veggies to make you feel like it's a
meal, and enough vinegar - y acidity to cut right through the stupefying haze
of an August heat wave.
Getting an active child to sit down for a
meal of any
kind, much less a
well - balanced, made - from - scratch
meal with the entire family, as he rushes off to or home from school, sports practices or games, or other activities that cram virtually every nook and cranny
of a child's day, has become virtually impossible for many families, especially those headed by single parents.

meal of the day or just nice to have when you need a snack.
I am a big fan
of eating smaller
meals, more frequently throughout the day, and from my experience, most women do
