The
best the
climate scientists have done is
to test theories of how CO2 may
change the
climate, but constructing
climate models and then recording how those models (not the actual
climate)
respond to changes in the amount of virtual CO2 in their virtual atmospheres doesn't prove or confirm anything.
This is a very
good case for studying how quickly the Earth's temperature
responds to changes in the
climate system.
Congress (
to the extent it did assess policy alternatives
to cap and trade), as
well as the broader community of analysts and observers in the late 2000s, raised a number of substantive questions about the merits of this policy instrument as a means for
responding to a major environmental policy challenge of the sort posed by
climate change:
For example, the summary of the 2011 GAO report states: «OMB reports funding in four categories: technology
to reduce emissions, science
to better understand
climate change, international assistance for developing countries, and wildlife adaptation
to respond to actual or expected
changes.»
«Through smarter, more sustainable energy systems, we can improve vulnerable infrastructure and reduce ongoing energy costs, as
well as demonstrate how we create green jobs as we
respond to the realities of sea level rise and
climate change.»
(E) establishes methods for assessing the effectiveness of strategies and conservation actions taken
to assist fish, wildlife, and plant populations, habitats, ecosystems, and associated ecological processes in becoming more resilient, adapt
to, and
better withstand the impacts of
climate changes and ocean acidification and for updating those strategies and actions
to respond appropriately
to new information or
changing conditions;

to give flora and fauna the
best chance of
responding to climate change by migration, Moritz, like Colwell, is in favour of protecting areas across elevational gradients
to maintain ecological integrity.
Panelists will share their
best practices for public and media engagement, debate how

(viii) the implications for communities vulnerable
to health effects of
climate change, as
well as strategies for
responding to climate change within these communities; and
Those who are most vulnerable
to climate change can do little
to protect themselves, their
best hope is that high emitting nations, sub-national governments, organizations, entities, and individuals will
respond to their moral responsibilities
to reduce the threat of
climate change.
From spurring energy conservation
to waste reduction and more, these tactics may yield meaningful opportunities
to respond to climate change, especially as international negotiations
to reduce atmospheric greenhouse - gas levels betray many people's hopes for a
better future.
For their study, researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fisheries West Coast Region used hydrophone surveys in order
to better understand how marine species
respond to climate change.
