Speaking of grahpics they are certainly a stand out feature
in this
game, bright and lively these are far from the standard brown shooters of the modern era that we have to look at, the character models are all
well detailed, not to mention that they move around as you race, sometimes dancing around the
vehicle or other little things that help make them feel more alive.
You'll need cash to buy new cars and the like, and you'll need
good vehicles to perform
well in races, so there's always that hook of pushing to get bigger and
better rides (like we've seen
in countless racing
games in the past).
We'd obviously be foolish not to mention the
vehicle handling itself
in such a
game, and the
good news is that there's plenty of assists you can turn on and off, whether you want an arcade experience or something more simulation - like.
Gameplay: 7.5 The
vehicle handle

In addition to the new courses, the update includes some
vehicle performance re-tuning for
better balance, a new Special Event Pack (Stone: Jack of Clubs), and improved
game servers and connectivity.
One of the
best representations of this is during one of the
game's largest battlefields on Sangheilios where players will find themselves using high perches
in order to get clean shots on enemies and even obtaining weapons such as
vehicles, fuel rods, turrets and the fan favoured Beam Rifle.
Graphically, Gravel is Milestone Italy's
best looking
game up to the date of its release with amazing
vehicle models that crumple when colliding with other cars or trackside objects complimented by realistic track surfaces such as sand, mud, foliage and rocks
in numerous environments, alongside superb weather conditions as
well as lighting and shadow effects that adapt to the time of day or night the race is taking place at, while there are outstanding subtle details such as water effects from water splashes and rain, mud splashing onto the car throughout the race, sparks flying as
vehicles trade paint and pyrotechnics throughout each lap particularly during stadium races.
But different
vehicles and play styles are
better suited to certain roles and opportunities than others, and so it'll be up to you to work together as a team to decide out who should attack and who should defend
in each of the unique
game modes.
Borrowing that «Radioactive» track from a trailer featuring a certain assassin (which is fine, because it's a
good track) the video shows off the Human and Irathient Ark Hunters
in action, giving us a look at some of the locations we'll be visiting, a taster of the sort of
vehicles we'll be able to drive around, and finishes with a Arkfall featuring a Hellbug of colossal proportions... and yes, you will fight that thing
in -
game.
The first big change I noticed was how much
better the graphics looked, with this being the first Halo
game brought out specifically for the Xbox One and (possibly) PC, rather than the rest which originated on the 360 etc, within the 9 hour sitting of playing through the campaign
in a co-op
game I did notice a few glitches, one of my team mates fell through the map, it randomly decided to teleport us forward past 2
vehicles when we were searching a map for Easter eggs but other than that the
game was flawless, the 13 hour download time was worth the wait (I'm assuming this was due to the Microsoft servers, I started downloading at 18:30 on the 26th and when I checked my Xbox at 07:40 am the following morning it was at 93 percent, my connection is 152mbps so as you can imagine I was rather annoyed and surprised how long it had taken, after playing the
game for all of 30 minutes I had completely forgotten about the length of time this had taken, I'll let 343 off with it as they have done such a
good job with Halo 5.
It also featured heavily
in the inaugural Team VVV Racing
Game of the Year Awards, winning the awards for
Best Graphics,
Vehicle Selection and Online Multiplayer.
The handling forgoes the floaty feel of some of the more recent WipEout
games in favour of heavier physics akin to WipEout 2097, but higher
vehicle classes included
in the final
game will feature faster, lighter craft with
better cornering capabilities.
Both characters will have
vehicles as
well they can use
in the
game.
There aren't as many weapons to pick from as other FPS
games, but the selection is still
good enough, as is the scopes and attachments that can be added to the weapons along with camo selection, infantry abilities (essentially perks) and the ability to set up separate perks for each
vehicle in the
game.
Awesome
game and all (FH2) and superb for what it is,
better than most but still not quite nailing the visceral, guttural thriils of truly high powered
vehicles,
in my opinion at least.
I simply think it doesn't fit and wished it was made
in a
better aesthetic that fits the
game more than a fuel - driven, motorized
vehicle
Rogue Squadron also has a number of secret
vehicle upgrades to find throughout the
game, not to mention one of the
best - kept secrets
in an N64
game.
Better still, all combo
vehicle have a turret or secondary attack for a passenger to use, and any progress story of level-wise will be saved when they return to their own
game — even if it's
in a chapter ahead of where they are at.
As a result, you not only need to learn how to be a
good racer, you also need to be a
good driver
in order to handle all the different types of
vehicles that the
game has to offer.
