Out of all of the RBC card options, the RBC Avion card provides you with

Sometimes people feel an obligation to stay at the best hotel for
the best points redemption value and sure, that's great and all, but in the end it's what you need at that time and if it wasn't the very best value, so what?

These low category hotels are not usually expensive, so even if it is
good value to use your
points, it might worth it to save them for a luxury

Most of the
best credit cards affiliated with a particular company tend to make up for limited
point redemption options by offering above average
value; the Norwegian Cruise Line credit card does none of that.

Determining
value of rewards
redemption — While typically not the
best value for your rewards
points, redeeming for merchandise can be handy when real «money» is more important in your pocket than any amount of miles or

However, we strongly recommend transferring your
points to a premium Ultimate Rewards card such as the Sapphire Preferred or Reserve, with which you can get a much
better value than 1 cent per
point for travel
redemptions.
These transfers can help you unlock much more
value than the 1 cents per
point possible using Pay With
Points for flights, which in turn is a
better option than any other non-transfer
redemption.
While I generally can't recommend Ritz - Carlton
redemptions for most travelers, PointSavers nights at The Ritz - Carlton Orlando would cost just 30,000
points per night, which would be a
good value compared to many of the other premium hotels in Mickeytown.
Pay With
Points redemptions for flights are somewhat
better, finally hitting 1 cents per
point in
value.
It is possible to find higher
redemption rates for your
points, but in some cases (especially with lower cost flights or hotel nights), the 1.5 cents per

Virgin Atlantic offers a route - based chart for Virgin America
redemptions which, depending on airfare prices at any given time, can make for
better redemptions than using Virgin America's fixed -

Because TrueBlue
point redemptions can have
values as low as 1 cent per
point (or lower), in some cases it will be a
better value to book JetBlue Mint through one of your bank
points accounts.
If you
value Delta Skymiles at 1 cent each, you should
value your Starpoints at no less than 1.25 cents, which would make a Cash &
Points redemption a
good deal for category 5 and 6 hotels during high season.
On the other hand, Southwest (which is a Chase transfer partner) has a fixed -
value redemption system where their Rapid Rewards
points are worth 70 to 80
points per dollar, which comes out to 1.43 cents per
point at
best.
Just remember: even though you may be able to get a
better value using bank
points, it still might not be a
good redemption.
