Is
that better than religion?
Religions embraced by conquerors tend to do
better than religions practiced by the conquered.
And again, we don't have to push our own faiths on each other to make it seem like my religion is
better than your religion...
I simply pointed out that I view atheism as
no better than religions.
Isn't atheism supposed to be
better than religions because they've grown up beyond such things, and they don't hurt people over their beliefs.
Is any religion at all
better than no religion?

I have no data to back this, but I presume that if someone were indoctrinated into
religion and then escaped from it, they may be more likely to self identify as an atheist or agnostic and still score
better than someone never exposed to it in the first place, who might self identify as «nothing in particular.»
As to whether the television guide is a
good guide to the Times, the ten pounds of newsprint that Sunday had no other reference to
religion other
than a business story about selling palms to churches and an article in the Sunday magazine about a Catholic who has decided to become a Jew.
People should practice their
religion at home or at their church and leave it out of the workplace other
than setting a
good example of honest behaviour.

religions and not for disbelieving but for knowing that this is not what is reflected on earth towards each other as you saw more hate among them
than it is love and more wars among them
than it is peace...?!? But surely what we are doing is not the right solution to correct this and to make them do what they should for
good deeds causes and not co-nspir-acy causes..

well as atheism, is not any more a
religion than not believing in Unicorns, ghosts, ESP, Pagan gods and goddesses, and the list is endless.

its not really atheism or
religion that I have a problem with, its the hate, control, and fear that goes along with it that I have a problem with, you say that those who are spiritual are into new agey, crystal ball, stuff, see that's what I'm talking about, you assume to know what something is about when you don't understand something you naturally fear it, your self righteous clouds you, don't you get that by being narrow minded in your view towards things, you really act no
better than religious fundamentalists, being spiritual is a lot more
than just the new agey, think positive all the time that you think it is, its about being aware of who you are?
I also think many
well meaning Christians are often distracted by a few social issues (things that I believe are personal and have more to do with our precious American freedoms
than religion) and lose site of the larger picture.
Move past the «my

Religions become intolerant when they try to «spread the word» that they are
better than another person's beliefs.
I agree with many of you that «
religion» does more harm

This trend is the same within the borders of the United States, the more secular states have lower unemployment,
better education programs, healthier people, and safer cities, but
than you have all the states in the bible belt sitting on the bottom of the list together in almost every category except
religion.
If your
religion can't help you become a
better person
than no
religion at all then it isn't worth much.
I think
religion promotes this behavior by teaching people that somehow it is
better to maintain your faith in something at all costs
than admit you're wrong when the evidence doesn't support your view.
That is correct;
religion indeed does more harm
than good.
Even if we accept that there is absolute truth, why should anyone accept that Christianity or the Bible embody that absolute truth any
better than any other
religion or an individual's personal belief?
