I have never had agave nectar, so I was a little nervous, but it tastes
better than honey!
I think agave would be
better than honey.
Maple syrup has a favorable glucose / fructose ratio (i.e. more glucose than fructose),
better than honey and much better than agave.
This was far
better than any honey chicken I've had at a restaurant.
I am pre-diabetic and, although honey is much better than sugar, I read that yacon is even
better than honey (lower glycemic index value).
Or does having a crystallized sugar (like coconut sugar) work

Unfortunately
honey has a very different texture / affect on baking
than agave does, maple syrup would be a much
better substitution.
Hate to nit pick but
honey isn't vegan so perhaps
best to lead with another sweetener or not proclaim them as vegan rather
than mention
honey a few times in the writing and then the recipe.
On every corner you see piles of the
best dried fruit — my favourite being the dates, apricots, figs — as
well as more nuts
than you can possibly image, heaps of insanely colourful, totally exotic herbs and spices, brilliant dried tea mixes, awesome
honey and nut based bars (I'm obsessed) and the world's
best, most freshest juices — pomegranate and orange being my new favourite, possibly the yummiest juice ever.

You can try it, but I don't think they will hold together very
well... as brown rice syrup is much thicker
than honey and maple syrup.
Just to make it easier for myself I avoid all
honey — luckily I love maple syrup — and pure maple syrup contains more vitamins and minerals as
well as less sugar
than honey!
My go to oats are way simpler
than this as
well; just oats, water, almonds, cinnamon and maple syrup /
honey.

For the blueberry popsicles, I added lemon juice in lieu of lime juice, and I add a little
honey as
well since blueberries tend to be more tart
than sweet.
I personally prefer the stevia as my body reacts much
better to stevia
than honey.
As for
honey and dates, I think these are DEFINITELY much
better than processed cane sugar.
