Aalto University neuroscientists, in collaboration with researchers at Helsinki University Hospital and Harvard Medical School, have found a novel connection
between the size of the
choroid plexus in the brain and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
In most cases, hypoxia is caused by either a dysfunction of the retinal vasculature, as in diabetic retinopathy and retinal artery and vein occlusions, or it is due to a mismatch
between nutrient supply and demand, as in the case of a retinal detachment, where the retina is separated too far from the
choroid to receive sufficient oxygen.
