The project ran from 2007 to 2012 and was established in response to research that shows that the barriers vulnerable children face at the start of school could be overcome if there were stronger links and partnerships
between schools,
early years services, families and the community.
Early engagement was studied in three ways: (1) length of time active in the program during the first
