Thankfully they're relegated to
cutscenes between missions and so your sanity is relatively safe, but still, what the hell is up with those faces?
You are supposed to follow the rules this time around, and there is no running around
time between missions and stirring up trouble as the game will not let you.
It examines why businesses exist, the
relationship between mission statements and objectives, common examples of business objectives, why objectives are set, and the measurement and importance of profit.
While you are given a hub world to
explore between missions, full of buildings to break into with plenty of treasures to find, the heart of the game feels lacking.
I've found that nursing my baby when I get home each evening has helped me find the
balance between my mission driven «helping» profession and parenthood.
Perhaps it isn't clear in the first episode, but further time management will be an important element of the
gameplay between missions.
Finally, users can summon new heroes for their teams over time, and they can customize their
teams between missions.
This
varies between missions though — some are more focused on exploration while others are heavily combat - driven.
Where you have a squad of soldiers or better a whole base of them and they all «go social» on each
other between missions!
Perhaps the most important of these changes for the future cultural development of the nations was the close
association between the missions and the campaign for world literacy.
I was rather taken by Dead Ops though, a fully featured top down shooter accessible from your safe -
house between missions.
The world map works as a type of menu system from which you manage your missions, with various dungeons and towns you have access to accessible
displayed between missions.
But there's also a sort of play area that you can go to
between missions talking to the characters and access a number of miniature side «games».
And while the
interfaces between missions can be somewhat annoying and confusing, the game play itself bridges a nice gap between arcade action and shooter mayhem.
What is good though is that you can nicely jump back and forth
between missions even once you have finished things off.
This extends to the cutscenes
in between missions, which break up the monstrous battles with light - hearted and humorous encounters.
What's different this time is that characters will actually move around the
ship between missions and have conversations with others.
You start off with one soldier and will end up using a maximum of three, but the number does sometimes
vary between missions.
Skill points can also be discovered through killing enemies or opening chests and these can be spent in
between missions on skills that enhance your characters in various ways; allowing you to reload your guns more swiftly or to cause enemies to drop more ammo for a favourite gun up on their deaths for instance.
Also, the menus that you use to customize your trench aren't so good, so changing out your chassis, legs, and
weapons between each mission takes a little longer than it probably needs to.
