What's the difference
between using one
coat of
primer and one
coat of latex, or two
coats of chalk paint?
I would give the surface a good pressure washing, scrap away any areas that have been issues in the past, apply a concrete
primer / sealer, then apply two top
coats with adequate time in
between coats.
I lightly sanded using a 220 grit sanding sponge in
between coats of
primer.
I lightly sand in
between both
coats of
primer, as well as both
coats of paint, using added pressure to the edges for a distressed look.
It took 1
coat of
primer and 3
coats of paint - I sanded
between each
coat... the crazy thing is I am happier with the finish on my kitchen cabinets, and invested way less time into them!
I then used a 120 grit paper to prep for priming, and in
between each of the two
coats of
primer.
Due to bleed thru I sanded the pieces and primed with shellac based
primer, applied 2
coats chalk paint, and then added the Minwax polycrylic
coating (x3) with sanding in
between each.
Holding the can approximately 30 cm away from the metal frame, apply up to two
coats of
primer, leaving at least four hours
between each
coat.
