Sometimes dog owners make the mistake of using the dog park as the dog's primary source of exercise, but all that energy
between strange dogs can cause problems.

stranger and now is cowering
between the owner's legs.
A first meeting
between dogs is like a first date
between strangers.
They can recognize your voice easily and can differentiate
between strangers and owners more quickly as compared to other breeds of the
dog.
Unless your
dog is reacting very
strange to a specific brand or experiencing odd health issues after eating it, you shouldn't be jumping around
between different types of
dog food brands.

between their owner and a
stranger, but can also feel positive thoughts about their owners when their «humans» aren't even present.

dog as a way to position myself

Other things needed to be handled this week
between my workshop hours: a
dog that I adopted out who was guarding his new companion a little too well and growling at

dog that needs to be transported to his foster in Northern California, a
dog whose spay certificate needed to be sent to the person who physically pulled him from the shelter to prove to the shelter that we are being responsible (no person in rescue who is a real rescuer would ever miss this step of spay / neuter - it is because of irresponsible owners who don't do this that we end up with 4 million
dogs and cats being put down in the United States every year.
My other
dog, however, will give other
dogs very mixed signals which confuses and frustrates them, so I tend to prevent any tension
between her and
strange dogs.
There are some
dogs who love touching in all ways, but most
dogs make a big distinction
between friend - familiar,
stranger - unfamiliar.
There were a lot of similarities
between enviornmental factors in
stranger - directed aggression and
dog - directed aggression.
