What I want to say is this is matter
between trad authors, trad publishers, and Amazon, there's no reason for customers and self publish authors to meddle or dictate how much big trad publishers SHOULD sell their own ebooks.
Not exact matches
When a
trad - pub book weighs in at $ 9.99 and you can buy somewhere
between two to four times as much reading material from Indie
authors, the choice seems obvious.
There is clearly no contest any more
between the amount you can earn as an indie versus as a
trad pubbed
author.
The difference in income
between successful traditionally published
authors and successful self - published
authors is getting narrower each day, with many self - published
authors now making much, much more than their
trad pub counterparts.
My feeling is that the connectivity
between authors and readers is improving (just by my «recommended for you» list)-- which means that those without much connection... which is not a small number (both indy and probably moreso,
trad pub) will be «disposable» — but those who make connection with readers — not publishers — will not be.
May need to differentiate
between large
trad publishers and indie / self published
authors.
