After 3 months of searching the internet and you tube to decide if I wanted to come back to religion, I finally found someone who preaches from the heart, the
way my Mama and Papa used to hear when they
went to church, DR John Collins with the Church of
Biblical Christians tells it the
way it should
be plus he does not accept donations, He preaches against todays prosperity preachers, My Papa said hes the only guy he has heard of lately not affraid to tell you what he thinks and use scripture to back him up.
I could have
gone into empirical evidence and
biblical study (you didn't either, by the
way), but my first post to you
was merely introductory — the full discussion would
be quite long as you know.
Accepting this requirement, I infer from it the
way in which theology should seek to
be systematic: not by trying to
go behind or beyond what the texts affirm (the common caricature of systematic theology), but by making clear the links between items in the whole compendium of
biblical thought.
So, I
'm going to continue teaching
Biblical evangelism to every believer that I can, and explain the Gospel in a
way that makes sense to every unbeliever that I can, all to the glory of God.

is going with our own desires (the
way of the world).
On
Biblical grounds, we note, for example, that Jesus» ministry
is summarized in the Gospels in
ways like the following: «And he
went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every infirmity among the people.»
Evangelicals who
are unwilling to
be counter-cultural
are going to find themselves one
way or the other accommodating themselves to the feminist spirit of the age and falling short of the
biblical ideal.»
My third prediction
is that the word «evangelical» will
go the
way of «fundamentalism» as its adherents become increasingly homogonous and as the word becomes associated with dogmatism regarding politics, science, women's roles, homosexuality, salvation, and
biblical literalism.
After showing how this has happened in various «myths,» Girard turns to some
biblical accounts to show how the skapegoating mechanism
is revealed in Scripture as well, but in a
way that turns the mechanism upside down and reveals what
is truly
going on behind the scenes.
«Now with that out of the picture, and people getting the impression that they have a right to perfect certitude and perfect clarity and perfect order every step of the
way, you've basically — I
'm gonna say it strongly — you've basically destroyed the

But I also believe that social justice
is important given the systemic disadvantages in our country; heterosexual divorce
is probably more detrimental than gay marriage; caring for the poor
goes a long
way toward reducing the «felt need» for abortion; and that setting

is probably not the
way to
go in a pluralistic society...

That
being said, it would
be hard not to play it this
way when the company she
's keeping
are as strong as they
are: Tarantino

biblical monologues and more of a dangerous cutting edge; Bridget Fonda plays his vacuous beach blonde accomplice to perfection while Michael Keaton

way, Aronoksky

Here too there
is a curious oblique
Biblical resonance: the story of the escape of Israel from Egypt describes how the Israelites
were guided in the wilderness: «And the LORD
went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the
way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light...» (Exodus 13:21) The natural «fire from heaven» reverses this supernatural pattern: by day the ground and sea receive fiery direct sunlight, while (as we shall see) a significant fraction of the nocturnal «fire»
is provided by cloud.
