big around my ankles.

Because of the design the shoe tends to feel loose
around the
ankle, plus the footbed is probably running 1/2 size
big / wide.
I do agree that the shoes that lace
around the
ankle or gladiator type sandals really emphasize the thickness and crop pants are awful for ladies with
big calves, plus I think they look unfinished.
I made a mistake when first moving to NYC and walked
around in less than quality dress shoes (even casual dress shoes) and my feet, and
ankles, paid for it
