A friend of mine recently brought home a
puppy and instantly her older dog turned into a
big baby.
Baby Delilah is getting so
big and she's starting to lose her
puppy teeth!

She decided she could not wait and Adopted him... Now at almost 5 years old this single
puppy who was the only
baby in his litter grew to be a 30 pound
big, fawn boy and is the love of her life.
Getting a
puppy is a huge commitment —
puppies are
babies, so they will interrupt your sleep, require tons of attention and care, and they'll make
big messes.
Exposed to 12 different noises (ALWAYS keep positive and watch
puppy's comfort level - we don't want
puppy scared): garage door opening, doorbell, children playing,
babies screaming,
big trucks, motorcycles, skateboards, washing machine, shopping carts rolling, power boat, clapping, loud singing, pan dropping, horses, vacuum, lawnmowers, etc..
We have adult dogs and cats, seniors (everyone has a soft spot for the old ones), litters of young
puppies and kittens, pregnant and nursing mommas, bottle - feeding
babies, as well as dogs and cats that may be sick, injured or recovering from treatment... we have
big, small, mellow, active... and everything in between.
Big dogs or little dogs — I don't really have a preference to be honest although I did see a
baby Pug recently, that had to be the cutest
puppy!
We admire the runners fighting for the high - energy dogs, the nurturers fighting for the bottle
babies, the suckers for cute who help socialize
puppies and kittens, those who see the wisdom and beauty in the eyes of an older dog, the angels who take in hospice cases, the skilled caretakers who make medical rehabilitation possible, the
big hearted fosters consistently serving as the bridge to a new life, the visionaries attacking the problem at its source through spay / neuter services and community outreach, the writers, photographers, videographers, and forces of marketing who make the animals shine, the adoption counselors and matchmakers who help animals and humans find each other, and the every day dog walkers, kennel cleaners, bowl fillers, and paperwork filers who provide the very foundation upon which the rest of us stand.
We got a new
puppy about a month ago it's a pug mix she is now 3 months old my older jack russel who is 7 snarled and snapped at her a couple days in now a month later he avoids her for the most part only curious to sniff her back end if she is on leash off leash he will growl a bit and run off my other dog a female 4 year old pug loves the
baby and is doing great with her at this point we are just taking it slow with the older male letting him take his time and hoping like with the other dog he will come around as the
baby gets
bigger
Getting a
puppy or having a
baby (trust me, getting a
puppy is a
big commitment, and don't get one if you're planning on having a
baby in the next year because despite what television advertisers would have us believe,
puppies and
babies do not generally mix well.)
