On Tuesday, Bank of America announced that after passing the Federal Reserve's
latest stress test — an exercise implemented after the financial crisis that requires
big financial institutions to prove they have the capital to sustain operations in a recession — it would raise its
dividend to $ 0.48 per year.
Since I started invested in
late 2008 when the stock market was way down most of my
dividend stocks have had some pretty
big increases in price.

big change in the landscape (such as in
late 2008) most companies pay out about the same
dividend each time, and changes to this are sometimes seen by some as «indicators» of company health and such news can result in movement in the stock price.
