Big Pub is ignoring the obvious evidence of indie ebook dominance because they don't want to admit they've lost the war.
From 2010 to 2014 or so, it seemed like we'd get blogosphere firestorms every week cheering for, or predicting the demise of,
Big Pub.

big pubs — newspapers or magazines — to put out their stories in serial form (remember Charles Dickens?).
At one time, ALL «next big things» were nobodies, but the consolidation of
big pubs, the focus on the bottom line, and other factors are the seeds of their own demise.
I've heard of some small publishers providing things
the big pubs can't, like better royalty rates, more personalized service, more willingness to work with the author on cover image input, quicker times to publication and payments, etc..
