Not only does the 370Z get a bigger engine, it features some impressive new transmission technology, along with the option of Nissan's excellent suite of cabin technology, which we saw most recently in the new Nissan Maxima.

The big news for 2013 is the addition of a more fuel - efficient V6 engine at the base of the line and the option of an advanced AWD system to go with it.

For 2002, the biggest changes are that the uplevel ES model is no longer available with a four - cylinder engine (it comes with the V - 6), and anti-lock brakes and traction control are combined with side air bags in a new option package (they are no longer standard on any model, and can't be purchased separately).

The biggest improvement however comes in the form of the new optional 9 - speed automatic gearbox which can be specified with a higher output version of the 1.6 - litre diesel engine delivering 160 PS and 350 Nm of torque (standard gearbox option is a 6 - speed manual unit).
