Yvan Simard is a
biological oceanographer using active and passive acoustics to study the marine mammals and their ecosystem, the multi-scale links with the
oceanographic forcing and
biological processes, and the anthropogenic imprint on the underwater soundscapes of their essential habitats, at the Maurice - Lamontagne Institute of Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the associated
research Chair at the Marine Sciences Institute of the University of Québec at Rimouski, Québec, Canada.
