Maybe that's because I've known Annie so long and was so full
of joy to hear her
birth story and spend
time with her and little Arie.
Previously, I had always thought
of these books as gifts for kids who have parents that are deployed, grandparents they don't get to see very often or
birth families that want to share in
story time.

birth stories series on this blog for awhile and now that I'm pregnant and will be looking for posts
of birth encouragement again myself, I thought it would be the perfect
time to start this up.
Moms need to share their

times, as a part
of the emotional work
of integrating her
birth (s).
And just to help you get the picture, based on YOUR info (stolen bits and pieces

The BWF
story that just haunts me is the first
time mom who had NO prenatal care who gave
birth in a log cabin with no electricity, no running water, out in the middle
of the woods with snow coving the ground.

Over coffee yesterday, I opened up about my experience with a new girlfriend and she shared that her sister went through a difficult

of her children and how it really helped to hear my
story since she was concerned she too might suffer from postpartum depression.
Because doctors can't sweep this information under the rug, there are public records

times a perfectly nice wonderful BFF
of a midwife then turns into a complete bitch when the
birth goes wrong and they fear that there might be some sort
of legal repercussion or bad press for them.
Centimeters dilated and
timing of contractions are the little things I always felt made a good
birth story.
In recounting our

My all
time favorite is the
story of his
birth.
I gave
birth in Ein Karem last
time, and didn't have a bad experience per se, but I've heard tons
of horror
stories there, so I'm not surprised you said Ein Karem.
And I think second
time birth stories are so interesting because obviously everyone kind
of knows what they are in for, so it is interesting to see how it plays out!
