These headphones falter
a bit at higher volume levels, and they don't feature noise - canceling, but just about any genre sounds great with the Sense, and you'll be able to listen for prolonged sessions thanks to an 18 - hour battery life.
Unfortunately, bass is represented at all and the sound distorts quite
a bit at higher volumes.

high — so much so that the
high register becomes a

It's excellent for podcasts, though it's still a
bit tinny when you playback music
at the
highest volume.
The speakers can get quite loud (for a 4.6 inch phone) however
at the
highest volumes the sound loses depth and can be a
bit «squeaky».
The Amazon Echo has a few more speakers inside its chassis, and can therefore sound a
bit better
at higher volumes, however what's under the hood here is enough to get the job done.
The balance can feel a
bit bass - heavy
at higher volumes, but the mid-
highs and
highs necessary for voice communication are easily discernible.
Pump the
volume all the way up, and you'll find the treble /
high - frequencies are too harsh, while bass loses its effectiveness
at such
volume; the low - end also vanishes a
bit when you turn the speaker down too low, too, so you definitely have to find a
volume sweetspot somewhere in the middle for the most balanced sound results.
Despite being able to reproduce seriously deep bass
at high volumes, like the drum hits in The Knife's «Silent Shout» without distortion, the rest of the JVC pair's frequency range feels a
bit off.
It only has one speaker which is still common on phones these days, but it's not the best speaker out there and
at higher volumes (lower than we would have expected) it began to sound a little
bit tinny and would also start to sound blown out just a little
bit.
The audio quality is nothing to write home about, and they're a
bit abrasive
at higher volumes.
