Honesty, hope, healing, and home schooling are frequent topics here, sprinkled with a little
bit of humor about the pursuit to choose love every day while still maintaining some semblance of sanity.

While the president attacks 99 percent
of his opponents by mercilessly strafing them in speeches, sound
bites and tweets (and has a one - size - fits - all approach to firebombing Democrats, disobedient Republicans, Gold Star families, war heroes, etc.), Daniels fends off her online critics with self - deprecating
humor, and has made a point
of refraining from saying anything bad
about the president himself — which has probably kept him from retaliating and going after her personally.
As I said before, these are just general observations I've made
about humor and satire through the years, and some principles I worked really hard to incorporate into A Year
of Biblical Womanhood, which included quite a
bit of both.

Look, having a dog does make you winner, in our eyes, and using that info in your tagline does indeed reveal something
about you, but instead
of making a demand right off the bat, consider inserting a
bit of humor that makes the reader want to delve deeper.

Julian Mitchell's script tends to drag its feet, if not cut short a lot
of expository depth, but it keeps consistent on razor - sharp dialogue, occasionally broken up by witty
humor that puts a
bit of kick in the slower spots,
about as much as highlights in Brian Gilbert's direction which break up slow spells and sentimentality with occasions
of color and effective thoughtfulness.
Though some
of the
humor is itself a
bit overboard, there's something kind
of touching
about watching this self - centered, entitled woman discover her maternal instincts and find love in a salt
of the earth family.
The film is a shapeless mess and
about as convincing as a cartoon, the usual mix
of slapstick, doofus
humor and raunchy sex jokes lacking even the
bite or attitude to make it adventurous.
Recommendation: No doubt
about it, one might need a little
bit of a dark sense
of humor to fully appreciate the goings - on within this extremely modestly - budgeted and rather poorly - marketed production.
The designated comic relief (in the form
of a memorable Kevin Hart as Dave's best friend Tree) also feels
of a piece with the rest
of the film, as the
bits of humor are relevant to the larger ideas
about love and marriage.
St Aubyn's books
about that time are infused with his
biting humor, and the creators allow Cumberbatch free rein to explore that range
of emotions, and he's absolutely essential casting to not only pull off the role but to let viewers know it's OK to enjoy the often hilarious, drugged - out debauchery, so long as they can stomach the telling
of the whole story (told in flashbacks, with Sebastian Maltz as a young Patrick, plus voice overs from grown - up Patrick and a separate, archly British narrator) and to understand his bad behavior is a bandage covering an awful wound.
Portman gives the film a shot in the arm in terms
of energy, but she doesn't appear until
about the halfway point, and outside
of showing quite a
bit of skin, she lends very little to the actual
humor quotient.
With the requisite eye candy provided by the three leads, and with quite a
bit of potty
humor, it's the kind
of female - centric movie that many men won't find too taxing, but unless you are willing to give the movie a pass for running out
of comedic steam
about two - thirds
of the way through, there just isn't quite enough for an overall recommendation.
There is some
humor in their dynamic; Ramsay presents Joe's mama's - boy deference by having him arrive at her house while Psycho is playing on television, hinting that there's a
bit of Norman Bates's mania in his devotion (he even jokes
about stabbing her in the shower).
Last night's Golden Globes was a
bit of a tragedy in just
about every form, from Ricky Gervais» strained attempts at edgy
humor to the censor happy ad libs to Alejandro G. Inarritu's newest misery machine The Revenant winning all the major prizes, feted as more than it is.
He's pointed and driven to bring the truth out, and Hanks sneaks in the firecracker side
of him to add a
bit of that cackling
humor Bradlee has when he's right
about something.
I'm not sure what it says
about me that I found Currie's potty
humor brilliant, but it does make me a
bit like his narrator, who is filled with buckets
of self - loathing.

It puts me in a
bit of a strange position in regards to how I feel
about the story, because the
humor, dialog and characters are all superb and there's plenty
of fantastic moments.
To add in a
bit of humor, there are some indirect jokes made
about pop culture icons.
With its hectic pace, dozens
of mini-games, and surreal sense
of humor, this is
about as close as we'll get to a 16 -
bit video game designed by Terry Gilliam.
And when Herrera talks
about this work, it's often with a little
bit of a smile, a wry sense
of humor that she's created a very simple geometric, clean, spare painting but that it's a barbecue, as she says.
