Love taking
fresh tomatoes
basil green onions and black beans and tossing them in a little
bit of olive oil and balsamic, if you have peppers and other veggies throw them in as well.
While I love the largess
of the standard heirlooms and can nearly taste the
bite of fresh mozzarella with
basil and olive oil just by looking at them, the little bitties are the guys that get me every time.

I use silver thyme, a

The hearty pasta,
fresh basil, the creaminess and then the crunch and salty
bite of the bacon, yep, it's a winner.
I adaptedit a
bit and used
fresh thai
basil, ground koriander, cumin and chili flakes instead
of the curry paste.
The only problem is that being nowhere near
basil season in my garden, I was going to have to buy a bunch
of fresh basil with a
bit of a price tag.

From the subtle addition

of thyme on a roasted portabello mushroom, herbs have the ability to transform and add that extra
bit of oomph to any dish!
And here are the recipes for what we made (ish), although I can't promise they will turn out quite the same without the
fresh - off - the - farm produce and wood burning oven «Magic» Herb Oil Sorry, no specific recipe here, but just mix any
fresh herbs you can get your hands on (we used
basil, oregano, espazote, rosemary, and sage), some garlic, salt, pepper, and oil (we used a mix
of olive and sunflower to raise the smoke point a
bit).
Adding a
bit of fresh, local
basil really seals the deal and rounds this smoothie off as a lovely dream in a mason jar.
Adding a
bit into the sauce as it cooks helps to impart that signature, peppery flavour and, later, a hearty garnishing
of some freshly chopped
basil at the end will give you a serving
of the beneficial enzymes, antioxidants and vitamins that
fresh herbs are so high in!

We've tried a number
of flavors for our kefir, and our favorites so far are plain
fresh organic ginger (tastes quite a
bit like ginger ale) and plain
fresh organic
basil.
Basil does not contain any substances that are known to be toxic to dogs, so there is no reason you can't mix a little
bit of fresh or dried
basil into their food for a burst
of flavor.
