biting wit, and surprisingly meta - ending reminiscent of Joss Whedon
's much - delayed 2012 flick, Cabin in the Woods.

been written
about Soderbergh's Palme d'Or - winning debut in terms of its defining influence on the landscape of American
indie cinema that the film itself tends to get a little
bit lost in the discussion.
With the
Indie Revolution in full swing, there seems to
be quite a
bit of chatter in social media
about what it should cost to self publish.
More importantly, the book
was a
bit of a paradigm shift in how I thought
about indie books.
Picking up from Tucker in that last
bit about embracing differences — and knowing that the IndieReCon team
is now going into a period of evaluation to map out the way forward — I might offer this, too: at our Author (
R) evolution Day conference (#ARDay) in New York, debuted by O'Reilly Tools of Change for Publishing on February 12, it became evident that the concept of an «entrepreneurial author» may
be more germane to what we
're seeing now than that of an «
indie» or independent or self - publishing or traditionally publishing or hybrid author.

am one of the unwashed
indie authors the blogger for the Guardian complained
about, here

bit of self - promotion:
While there
is much to learn
about the bestsellers in genre fiction and what proportion
is indie vs. legacy, and what their respective slices of the pie amount to
be, extrapolating from that day to annual income from sales
is a
bit dicier.
If you
're even a little
bit involved in the publishing world — and unless you've
been, you know, living under a rock — chances
are you've heard at least some of the talk
about the e-book revolution and the debate raging
about the benefits of
indie versus big six publishing.

indie authors — another way to gain respect and confidence in your own abilities, and maybe even a
bit of prestige — not to mention increased sales.
I've had nine traditionally published book, and I
was a
bit worried
about the
indie - publishing process, but Damonza eliminated any concerns I had from day - one.
The best thing
about Sunday
is with things
being a
bit quieter we finally had enough time to chill at the
Indie Megabooth, one of the best parts of any PAX that should never
be overlooked.
Over at Tales of the Rampant Coyote, they have a nice interview with Steve Taylor of NinjaBee
about making
indie games for consoles (Outpost Kaloki X, Cloning Clyde, and now Band Of Bugs for XBLA), something very near and dear to my heart - and it has some good details in it - though it
's a
bit wacky because the Coyote
is actually interviewing his boss!
The interview talks
about the game a
bit, the game marketplace and some of the many trials and tribulations of
being an
indie game developer.
