The exhibition also includes the paintings Sand Morning (1973) and Arundel XI (1974), as well as a series of black and violet acrylic works on paper, two of which Truitt made in a rented room in Georgetown in 1962; an acrylic on paper made in her studio in Tokyo in 1966; two acrylics on paper completed on Tilden Street in 1968; several early drawings of streetscapes and buildings recalled from childhood; and a rare working drawing for the Gallery's sculpture Knight's Heritage.

Structured chronologically, the exhibition consists of works on paper from various stages of the artist's career, beginning with summary pencil scrawls of the early 1950s, when Twombly was a student at Black Mountain College in North Carolina, and ending with three works from 2008 filled almost to bursting with blood - red spirals of acrylic paint.

This exhibition marks an important departure from Khan's photographic based works and comprises a suite of large black paintings, a monumental site specific wall drawing and a series of works on paper, all of which consider the metaphysics of creativity.

The artist Christopher Chiappa has always loved Swiss cheese, so when he was recently in a bout of traveling he would stop in delis wherever he was and order slices of it, place them down on pieces of paper, spray paint them black, scan the results, and then use a waterjet cutter to recreate the flat shapes, holes and all, in powdery yellow aluminum.

The show included large, new acrylic paintings on canvas and black and white painted paper collages.

These works are a series of black enamel and oil paintings, they are presented alongside unique works on paper and prints from the same period, which are regarded as his most important and productive output as a draughtsman.

This exhibition will feature collaged works on paper, and mixed media canvases including a rare series of black and gold paintings executed in early 2010, never before on public view.

The straightforward, descriptive title seems completely unrelated to the image, which is neither yellow nor a banana, but a wandering smear of black acrylic paint on white paper.
