When we and the Christensen Institute released the initial survey seeking examples of
blended learning success in the fall of 2014, we received about 65 responses.

A broad strategy of
learning measurement and the evaluation of
learning success should be considered for every project or program you want to run; an approach that applies equally to a traditional
learning event, a
blend or
learning architecture, or even what might be called a
learning campaign.
Interestingly, when asked to relate personalized
learning to social
learning or the 70:20:10 approach in particular (which we have covered in depth)-- an approach that pushes organizations to pursue a
blended learning approach where
learning achieves 70 % of
success through experiential
learning, 20 % through social / informal
learning, and 10 % through traditional, classroom - based
learning — it was determined that most organizations found that personalized
learning methodology aligned with the 70:20:10 approach.

Funders may need to be more deliberate by creating a robust entity that has the sole job of coordinating across the entire geographic cluster to make sure that system leaders, principals and other school leaders,
blended learning directors, teachers, and education technology companies have frequent opportunities to network and spend time with each other

successes and setbacks.
Blended learning is one way to maximize student
learning and teacher
success.
We are a necessary component in its
success, but only if we use our knowledge and voices to become a variable in the equation of
blended learning.
My Evergreen Education colleague John Watson, who led the research, has done a good job distilling several of the lessons behind these schools»
successes in a series of blog posts that chronicle the importance of leadership in
blended learning; the critical role in - person teachers and mentors — not just monitors — play; the persistence district schools must have as they navigate the inevitable bumps on the road to implementing successfully
blended learning; and the important role data plays.
Nearly three years after trying to identify which
blended learning model worked best, it's apparent that no one model can guarantee
success for our students.
