I get a lot of questions about food photography and how I learnt to
take all the

I cooked four recipes from A Taste of Greece, although only two (this and this) managed to make it on the

When I first started this food
blog, I thought to myself that I would just focus on writing well; but I struggled terribly with

taken, is feeling the passion with which you live your life.
And your daughter
takes all of the
photos on your
blog and in your book, right?
(In addition to
taking the
photos, I contributed five recipes that have previously appeared on this
blog, including my favorite fat - free cake.)
I write this
blog together with my older daughter, so we assist each other in cooking and
taking photos.
One of my goals this year for my
blog is to
take better
photos!
She
takes all the
photos and videos for the
blog and contributes to recipe development and editing.
Then Christmas came and among the repeats (pumpkin gingersnaps, crisp peanut butter cookies, banana nutella muffins, honey oat quick bread), my sister Rosie and I made some brand new treats, but I forgot to
take photos and thus, no Christmas
blog.
Teaching myself how to
take pictures of food has been one of the most satisfying and fun parts of creating this
blog, but as a bit of a perfectionist (ahem, understatement of the century), I can be quite obsessive about my recipe
photos.
You don't need to be a computer whizz, a journalist or a marketing expert to write a
blog, a passion for your craft and a the ability to type and
take / upload a
photo are the only prerequisites.

p.s. our house was featured on a design
blog... not a crumb, or child, in sight when the
photos were
taken, but when they returned home...
Because breakfast is not an «offer vs. serve» meal (i.e., students must
take all parts of the meal for it to be reimbursable by the federal government), there's a huge amount of waste, and one of the most valuable aspects of Lisa's
blog has been her
photos of the untouched food routinely discarded by the students from the breakfast — tables full of sealed milk and juice cartons, uneaten whole fruit and unopened packaged foods all headed for the trash (see, e.g., here and here).

blog: Like I said in number 13 I meet the amazing Chandler and not only did I get to meet her and work with her for the yearbook but I also had the opportunity to get more pictures for an OOTD post on her
blog.
