work with me on my design and I highly recommend transitioning from
blogger to wordpress, it's a lot
more customizable and fun to play around with!

2011 was a pretty exciting time in the blogging world, with the dawn of affiliate networks making it possible to organically monetize blog posts (no
more selling $ 30 ads to weird Etsy shops as I'd
done in college) and online magazines combining my favorite
bloggers» point of view with
more professional photography and overall design (like the one where I
worked in San Francisco).
I spent time with my friend Sandy getting our hair
done at Runway Hair by Meg (see
more of here
work HERE) and shooting with Shailynn Photo and Film, meeting my
blogger gals for sushi, enjoying my niece's and grandfather's birthday parties, enjoying dinner with Meeno and then driving the Alpine loop before family pictures.
Blog post promotion: Every
blogger who is

more than just her own pleasure,
works hard to promote posts across all her social media platforms.
I have found from my brief stint as a
blogger... who sends my
work to my FB page, that when my writing is
more than a paragraph I don't have as many hits.
Because
bloggers are busy, and wanting a review is asking them to
do more work, but offering to provide content for their site — now that can seem like a mini vacation!
Now, I just want to raise a glass to all you hard
working investors, and
bloggers, out there (value, or otherwise)-- stick with it, it
does «rub off», and
more importantly it
does pay off in the end..!

Hm, well, I'm only sorta - kinda one really (I make a living from freelance writing and consultancy
work rather than blogging), but... for me, it's being in touch with other travel
bloggers, who know WAY
more about travel than I
do.

Sometimes I can't tell if it is a good thing or not to get all of this inspiration to make
more DIY projects, when I can't quite keep up with the ones I'm already
working on — but it sure is fun to see what other
bloggers are
doing.
If being a full time
blogger ever appears to be too good to be true (get «free stuff» for your house, get paid to decorate and travel and sit around talking to friends in your computer all day), let me tell you... much of what I
do is a lot of fun, but it is often a lot
more work than you might think.
To stand out among all the
bloggers now clamoring for attention, it doesn't necessarily
work to simply grow past them in traffic or get your name out
more often in front of people or mimic the best of the best.
But I admire all
bloggers who are
doing a
more focused
work.
