Writing a
blog post for an existing
blogger is a tried - and - tested method
of getting your voice
out there and getting a link back to your website.
One
of the biggest challenges that
bloggers face is getting enough traffic to their
blog, especially when you are just getting started
out.
I began to notice areas I felt some pressure to conform: sometimes I feel an unspoken pressure from the institution and individuals within it to adhere to a preset systemization
of belief and morality; sometimes I allow a comment left on my
blog or criticism from other
bloggers to intimidate me into conformity; sometimes I feel afraid to let what I really believe to leak
out of my mouth; sometimes I allow criticism
of the way I oversee our community, or criticism
of our community itself, to frighten me into silence, passivity and paralysis.
Most people like to see their content accessed widely and so can learn some great tips (as well as read some good content) from these
blogs, but «most popular» doesn't always mean «best» I'd say that for any
blogger a key to judging your own success is to think about the purpose and intended audience
of you
blog — if you have a niche audience in a specific location you may not get a huge following but if you set
out to acheive something worthwhile through your
blog and you achieve it then that counts as success.
In fact, as I began my journey
out of the institutional church I was questioning everything from both sides and the responses I got from the
blogger you mention were downright rude and I haven't commented on his
blog since (unless I totally agreed with him and could» t resist).
If you feel a pang
of jealousy counting someone else's
blog comments, try to turn that jealousy into admiration so that you can figure
out what this
blogger is doing right and then apply it in your own way to your own
blog.
Some practical points: If you're just starting
out, some opportunities that make a lot
of sense for platform - building include: writing guest posts for popular
bloggers who share a similar audience, writing a regular column for a newspaper or online magazine, seeking
out speaking gigs (paid or unpaid), participating in conferences (for networking opportunities as well as exposure to new, inspiring ideas), using social media to share your message, and requesting interviews with popular authors / speakers / leaders to feature on your
blog.

The best answer seems to be a combination
of targeted and untargeted outreach: online communicators can use a sharpshooting approach when appropriate, connecting personally with chosen
bloggers, Twitterers and journalists, while still blasting information
out via mass email, YouTube, Tweets, Facebook updates and
blog posts.
Much
of a campaign's online outreach will take place in the very public venues
of blogs, Facebook, YouTube, MySpace and Twitter, but politicians and staff can also reach
out behind the scenes, for instance sending emails or Facebook messages to selected
bloggers, Twitterers and activists, usually in the hope
of creating connections that will lead to more public affirmations
of support.

I have been pretty swamped focusing on building up my social consulting business + designing a new site for it (stay tuned... I am perfecting the design hehe), being a boss lady ain't easy... let me tell ya haha However, one
of my highlights
of the long Labor Day Weekend (other than the amazing sales) was being able to meet up with some
of my
blogger friends — I have been
out of commission for a little bit since I've been drowning in work + the

When you follow
blogs for awhile, you tend to gravitate more to the
bloggers who seem relatable and just plain #REAL... (unless you are just looking for that no makeup makeup tutorial or that new pair
of booties) which leads you to get involved in their lives beyond the
blog... you go down the rabbit hole and you start to notice oh, Jess and Hallie aren't hanging
out as much (yea, I am the creep that noticed) or I guess Carly and Mackenzie maybe aren't friends anymore -LRB-?).
Over the last 2 1/2 years at Grandma's House DIY (since I started the
blog) I have been fully introduced to what I have come to think
of as the «
Blogger Hustle» which, if it were a dictionary term, would be described as, «A
blogger trying every conceivable thing that they can possibly think
of times a million and a half and then some more in an attempt to figure
out what works for their
blog to increase their traffic and then, by some kind
of miracle, also maybe make a little bit
of money.»
