year of life, creating the Jesus Feminist collection with Imagine Goods, a trip to Haiti, new opportunities as a writer, three tinies at home with their own lives
and drama
and growth
and change, remodelling parts of our home, marriage, church, friends, life, work, laundry (oh, can we talk laundry?!)
I know that I've shifted in what I blog over the
years — less
blogging about my tinies experiences / lives, for instance, less burn - down - the - Internet soapbox rants, less day - in - the - life
blogging with simple stories from daily life — but that means that when I do write, it's with more thoughtfulness
and intention, I hope.

Twenty
years from now, what will researchers be saying
about the long - term effects of
blogging and of reading blogs?
I have learned a lot
about blogging in the past
year,
and am going through all my old posts
and updating them.
After three
years of
blogging and lots of trial
and error, I've learned some important lessons
about how to write a controversial post without regretting it the next day.
Finally,
about two
years ago (in January 2011), I figured out a few things
about blogging,
and things have been steadily increasing since then.
Over the course of the next
year, I made several good
blogging friends online,
and learned a lot
about blogging, started several other blogs,
and decided to pursue my dream of getting published.
About midway through last
year, it suddenly dawned on me that it's not my job to generated seven days of content for readers all on my own, but that, in addition to posting my own thoughts, I can use my
blogging platform to feature news stories, links, interviews, discussions, guest posts,
and videos that would be of interest to you!

year the DHM has taken on, among other things, the Texas FLDS debacle
and the Consumer Product Safety Information Act, as well as posting frugal recipes
and gift ideas, book reviews,
and hymns every Sunday.
Looking back on that photo
and the short text that came with it, I definitely feel that we have learned a whole bit
about food photography, recipe writing
and blogging during these
years.
I first wrote
about Quinoa Pilaf two
years ago, when I was new at
blogging and took blurry iPhone photos.
Yes, another
year goes by
and I find I have been
blogging about chocolate for six whole
years now.
One of my favorite things
about this time of
year in the
blogging world is learning
about how other people celebrate the holidays including their memories
and food traditions
and this bountiful bowl looks like the essence of comfort
and deliciousness.

blogged about the spinach
and cheese strata.

years in to
blogging and I'm still posting
about quinoa... like all the time.
My partner
and I stayed for one month in Phuket, Thailand for the Phuket Vegetarian Festival, which I will be

year.

I've
blogged a bit before
about what Pose Method has done for me in the last five
years and I'm admittedly lucky to have Dr. Romanov's coaching protégé, Valerie Hunt, as my long - time running partner.
Plus, since I have been
blogging about this gluten - free lifestyle for many
years now, it has brought me into contact with some other amazing gluten - free, allergy - free bloggers
and friends.
Blogging along with this
year's Vegan MoFo challenge really got me thinking
about what foods I like that are both vegan
and gluten - free...
and I got sad when cheese wasn't on that list.

One of the side effects of
blogging for almost nine
years —
and posting 1200 + recipes in the process — is that I tend to forget
about some of the older recipes.
After talking every day for the past two
years, we were able to coordinate our schedules so that we could all finally meet, hang out together,
and learn lots more
about food
blogging.
After ten
years blogging about Bolton Wanderers, five on this very site, Dennis is putting away his keyboard
and saying good - bye.
It's something I've
blogged about time
and time again over the past two - plus
years as I diligently tried to find a solution that worked best for me
and to let others who might be dealing with this know they aren't alone.
That's in large part what my
blogging has been
about all of these
years — addressing topics like home birth, circumcision, cosleeping, vaccinations, child - led weaning (breastfeeding), babywearing, home schooling, unschooling
and more.
Rather than write a lengthy post that sums up all that's been going on in my life for the past few
years, I will simply start
blogging again — perhaps flashing back here
and there, but also just recounting life as it currently is
and writing, as always,
about the things that matter to me.

year, as well as photographing the meals
and blogging about them.
I'm planning on
blogging about my 1
year breastfeeding anniversary,
and would mention the contest on my blog then, but I won't have time to write the post until Sunday, so one entry will have to do.
We feel so passionately
about it we started
blogging about BLW a
year ago
and haven't looked back — we want to get the message out there as we find that a lot of people have still never heard of it
and think puree is the only option!
