blogging about book reviews, how to get them, and why they matter.

Chris's
review led me to reflect a bit on our
book, and I thought it might be appropriate to close the
blogging year with a couple of posts
about it.
When I started
blogging about books and movies, I wanted to learn more
about it to give better
reviews so I researched online.
I've been writing
reviews and
blogging about those
books I've enjoyed for a few years now and still find it very satisfying and pleasurable.
In mid-June he
blogged about Amazon's New York Times
Book Review ad under the headline, It Would Be a Sin to Buy It.
When you do publish, you wonder why your
book isn't selling, why it isn't getting
reviews, why you haven't been invited to do interviews, why no one is
blogging about your
book, why you feel like a failure.
You just don't have bloggers dedicated to
reviewing or
blogging about audiobooks, so the promotional avenues are quite limited in comparison to promoting
books and ebooks.
I love reading,
reviewing and
blogging about books to feel free to contact me.
Kate Scott blogs at The Parchment Girl where she
reviews books in a variety of genres, interviews authors, gives away free
books, and writes
about book blogging and the reading life.
I have also been called a pedophile and racist through GR
book reviews and comments under the
book reviews as well as have two current hate blogs established in my honnor by these bullies as well as have dozens of these bullies
blogging lies and making libelous comments
about me on their blogs.

I nearly toppled out of my chair — you don't get questions like this from someone with whom you've worked for years — until I realized that someone new to the
book blogging scene would have no reason to have any knowledge
about requesting
review copies from publishers.
Everyone who left a
review or
blogged about my
books.
Just to put this shift in perspective, if I read,
reviewed, endorsed, or
blogged about every
book I've received, I'd never read a
book of my own choosing or have time to write
about my own ideas.
