HI Gm, I am doing the
blood glucose /
ketone testing with
strips like you (but once / day every 2 days) and have been living with the ketogenic diet full on since Feb14, I found I couldn't get my
blood sugars to go lower than around 4.5 mmol (was trying to get down to Dr Seifreid's recommended 3.6, or at least under 4) after starting the intermittent fasting they really stabilised.

To find out whether you are in ketosis or to learn how certain foods affect you, you can use a breathalyzer, a
blood ketone meter or a
blood glucose meter (same meter, just different
strips).
If you want to see how certain foods affect your

blood glucose meter is a great and inexpensive way to test it (same device as for
blood ketone levels, just a different
strip).
If you want to get accurate results, try a
blood ketone meter (same as
blood glucose meter, just different test
strips for monitoring
ketones).
My
blood ketones no matter what i tried are not above 0.4 but in the same time urine
strips are dark purple.
Most
blood glucose meters will enable you to measure both
ketones and glucose but you do need to use different testing
strips to do that.
Once you stick to the plan, it's actually easy to get into ketosis, as you will find out using
ketone detection
strips or
blood ketone meter.
The only downside with
blood ketone measurement is that the testing
strips generally run for about $ 4 per
strip.
Not sure if that will change over time but since the
ketone strips are so expensive I have been using the ketostix to help verify more frequently w the
blood testing just every few days.
I would again recommend the Keto Mojo instead, which is a newer company that is very effective and has the lowest rates you can find online for

You can use keto urine
strips or — even better — a
blood ketone meter to test and make sure you're becoming fat - adapted.
To check whether you're in ketosis or not you should use
ketone testing
strips or a
blood ketone monitor.
If you would like to test for it, you can either use a
blood ketone meter and test
strips or a Ketonix breath test meter.
Although the most accurate way is to use a
blood ketone meter, you can also use urine
ketone strips or simply your common sense and listen to your body signals.
I couldn't see any
ketones on my urine
strips but then I tried the
blood meter and was quite surprised.
We'd recommend getting a
blood ketone meter and the accompanying
ketone measuring
strips.
You can use a
blood ketone monitor like the one here, a breath
ketone meter that measures the acetate on your breath or you can test with urine test
strips.
Practical requirements to start the diet, including software — chronometer, and equipment — urine,
blood and breath — testing devices, glucose and
ketone strips and monitors required to monitor your clinical ketosis status.
Be sure to use
ketone testing
