I keep putting off writing
this blurb because I don't want to mess it up... but this is the book I want to handsell most.
I can't tell you how to write a winning query letter, scintillating synopsis, or can't fail cover
blurb because I don't know how.
I can barely focus enough to write this little

Not exact matches
First this
blurb: «Powell's scholarship and expelled her

In it was a little
blurb about how raisins make really great mid-run fuel for distance runners,
because of both the natural sugars and the potassium.

because that's exactly how I see it.

You might want to cite your sources regarding damage from running and be sure to place them in context, showing the volume of training if you want to make your case more strongly,

blurbs and abstracts of the studies cited as ammo against cardio and running in general, when upon reading the full text paper and putting it context of the entire body of research, did not support the contention being made.
The video is quick and pretty straight forward but you have to watch it to the end

Several authors told me that they often don't cite them
because they feel their name won't lend the kind of credibility that they want from the

The rest of your homework will be getting all of your information together, down to the
blurb, tag line, any reviews you want to highlight (
because IS lets you do that), etc..
While I rarely buy a book for the cover (never say never...), I frequently buy books and ebooks
because I was hooked by the
blurb.
In this case, the agent says that it is complicated
because you have to do typesetting, jacket designs,
blurbs, etc..
But with digital books, the cover (which becomes the front cover) is even MORE critical,
because so much more of the customer's decision to drill deeper and learn more about the book (i.e. read the
blurb, check out the rating and reviews, etc) hinges on their initial reaction to the cover.
I picked this book up
because of the
blurb from Jonathan Evison on its cover: «A brilliant and compelling family saga full of warmth, pathos, history and humor.»
But then I read David Sedaris's cover
blurb — mostly
because I thought it was strange for David Sedaris to be
blurbing a book about dangerous animals:

Because readers of those series will see something that is familiar when they look at your work and the cover might just entice them into reading the

I know there are fabulous self - published authors out there
because I have found some, and I must say I've been doing my picking based solely on
blurbs, reviews and sample pages.
I've seen books abruptly take off
because of the
blurbs and then suddenly take a dive when actual reader reviews come in.
I say «or»
because I'm pretty sure two of them wrote a
blurb for the other, and now I love them all so equally that I don't know which came first.
Because this presentation of your dream book
blurb is visual, it will attract more attention and generate more interaction with you and your connections.
The problem with publishing today, though, is that its driven by greed, and that's driving debut writers to self - publish rather than risk getting rejected
because a) they didn't walk into the toilet stall of their favorite author and politely ask for a
blurb, or b) they discovered they'd rather spend what free time they have writing, and not marketing or frequenting social venues to make connections that may or may not pan out.
They have to identify and contact the best people to write cover
blurbs, write their own announcement releases
because the staff publicist doesn't have time to do it justice, create their own media lists for review copies, blog / tweet / post, schedule book signings (yawn...), generate story ideas for traditional media, create their own virtual book tour, and on and on.
I've written
blurbs for a couple of stories yet to be written
because I had the idea all figured out.
In the future when writing my next book, I will probably start off with writing the
blurb first
because this makes you focus on the key aspects and components of your book.
So if your book is hardly selling, it could be
because most customers checking our your product page aren't sold on the book from reading the
blurb.
So not only are front matter
blurbs redundant — potential readers already have access to them before they download a sample or «read inside» — but they they may hurt sales
because they delay the reader's entry into the text, and
because they take away from the amount of the actual book the reader can peruse before buying.
while 500 of those people do click on your book to see the product page, 490 of those don't look inside
because the
blurb doesn't capture their interests.
Cover
blurbs — for a while, if I saw «The next Heinlein» or similar wording, I avoided the book, simply
because «the next Heinlein» was almost always a disappointment.
Many of her 5 - star reviewers said the reason they bought her book was
because the attractive cover design caught their attention, which ultimately lead them to read the
blurb, and buy the book.
Notable
blurbs or endorsements: This can strike fear into one's heart,
because everything is relative, and you never know if the people you know are «big» enough.
They introduced me to quite a few authors I might never have read, mostly
because they were reasonably cheap, the monthly sales
blurb made it sound interesting, and I pretty much trusted the brand?
Perfect your
blurb and Look Inside before you publish
because these can have a profound influence on sales.
I have usually recommended that color book authors create proofs with
Blurb and print elsewhere
because of the high cost...
All three of those items are on my Kindle
because I was asked to cover
blurb them, either by the author or their editor.
Because of his successful track record, the first line of his
blurb is able to use social validation to hook readers in.
Because books with amazing book covers and a great back cover
blurb can still sell tens of thousands of copies in bookstores, when readers don't have the benefit of looking up the reviews on Amazon.
