From this perspective it would even be possible to understand Christendom's religious reversal of the movement of
Spirit into flesh as a necessary consequence of the Incarnation, preparing the way for a more comprehensive historical realization of the death of God by its progressive banishment of the dead
body of God to an ever more transcendent
and inaccessible realm.

Now the dualistic sin of the Christian church, its original heresy, is that of resurrecting Jesus into the heavens with God in glory
and the designation of the church as Christ's mystical
body on earth.15 In actuality this doctrinal pronouncement represents a reversal of God's kenotic movement into humanity in Christ's flesh
and in his death, for contrary to the
spirit of kenotic incarnation, the church has become ever more sacredly apart
from the profane,
and the resurrected Savior ever more transcendent of the world.

While Paul's thought is by no means always clear,
and perhaps
from letter to letter not always exactly the same, it is nevertheless certain that his concept of resurrection can be clearly distinguished
from that of the traditional «bodily resurrection».27 Paul does not speak in terms of the «same
body» but rather in terms of a new
body, whether it be a «spiritual
body», 28 «the likeness of the heavenly man», 29 «a house not made by human hands, eternal
and in heaven», 30 or, a «new
body put on» over the old.31 In using various figures of speech to distinguish between the present
body of flesh
and blood
and the future resurrection
body, he seems to be thinking of both
bodies as the externals which clothe the
spirit and without which we should «find ourselves naked».32 But he freely confesses that the «earthly frame that houses us today ’33 may, like the seed,
and man of dust, be destroyed, but the «heavenly habitation», which the believer longs to put on, is already waiting in the heavenly realm, for it is eternal by nature.
Some, while admitting it to have a real existence, imagine that it sleeps in a state of insensibility

and vanishes away
and becomes evanescent till the period when the whole man shall be raised again.

I have a better one: Christianity is the idea that a cosmic zombie Jew can help you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh

body of evil
spirits that are only there because a rib woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat forbidden fruit
from a magical tree.
Tim i found it liberating to just do what the Lord wants you to do i work within his boundarys
and yes i attend church
and enjoy it.I love the people
and i love hearing the word
and worshipping the Lord even if others are still bound up with traditions thats not my walk thats theres. My focus is to do what the Lord wants me to do.There have been times i have said no to the pastor he does nt understand why i choose not to lead the worship.i query him as well regarding the idea that its not just performing a function because there is a need our hearts have to be in the right place so that the Lord can use us but he did nt understand where i was coming
from and thats okay because of that i just said no until my heart is right i am better not being involved in leading. But i am happy to be an encouragement to others in the worship team i havent wanted to be the leader i have done that in the past.So my focus has been just the singing
and being part of different worship teams i think the Lord has other plans as the groups i am in seem to be changing at the same time i am aware that i do nt to worry about change as the Lord knows whats best.I used to be quite comfortable leading the music but that was before when i was operating in my own self confidence
and pride. The Lord did such a huge change in my life that i lost my self confidence
and that is not a bad thing at all as my spiritual growth has been incredible. The big change was my identity moved
from me
and what i could do to knowing who i was in Christ
and that he is my strength
and confidence. Now i know that without him i can do nothing in fact i am dependent on his empowerment through his holy
spirit all the time in everything. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music at another church i attend multiple churchs although i attend two regularly one has services in the morning
and one has services in the evening so the two do nt really clash. In the weekend i was asked to lead the music its been two years since i did that
and i was worried on how i would go.All i can say is that it went really well
and because i stepped out in Faith the Lord really blessed the morning to the congregation. The difference is knowing that i serve the Lord with the gifts he has given me but my heart has to be right
and when i do it in his way it builds up the
body and it brings glory to him.May the Lord continue to show you what he wants you to do even though others may not understand your reasons i just want you to know that you do nt have to pull away completely just work within the boundarys that the Lord gives you
and do nt feel pressured by others expectations to do anything that feel uncomfortable.Be involved just as you feel lead by the holy
spirit even if it is in a very minor way take small steps.regards brentnz

Toward the end of Ut Unum Sint, John Paul cites some of the questions that must be addressed in conversation with the communities issuing
from the tragic divisions of the sixteenth century: (1) The relationship between Sacred Scripture, as the highest authority in matters of faith,
and Sacred Tradition, as indispensable to the interpretation of the Word of God; (2) The Eucharist as the Sacrament of the
Body and Blood of Christ, an offering of praise to the Father, the sacrificial memorial
and Real Presence of Christ
and the sanctifying outpouring of the Holy
Spirit; (3) Ordination, as a Sacrament, to the threefold ministry of the episcopate, presbyterate,
and diaconate; (4) The Magisterium of the Church, entrusted to the pope
and the bishops in communion with him, understood as a responsibility
and an authority exercised in the name of Christ for teaching
and safeguarding the faith; (5) The Virgin Mary, as Mother of God
and Icon of the Church, the spiritual Mother who intercedes for Christ's disciples
and for all humanity.
Behind this dismissiveness lies the dualism that is more

Yet it is certainly there: in God's great commission in Genesis 1:28; in passages such as those formerly quoted about man's

«Again, respect of persons, in uncovering the head
and bowing the knee or
body in salutation, was a practice I had been much in the use of;
and this, being one of the vain customs of the world, introduced by the
spirit of the world, instead of the true honor which this is a false representation of,
and used in deceit as a token of respect by persons one to another, who bear no real respect one to another;
and besides this, being a type
and a proper emblem of that divine honor which all ought to pay to Almighty God,
and which all of all sorts, who take upon them the Christian name, appear in when they offer their prayers to him,
and therefore should not be given to men; - I found this to be one of those evils which I had been too long doing; therefore I was now required to put it away
and cease
from it.
(
From the Christian point of view (which in this coincides with the biological viewpoint logically carried to its extreme) the «gathering together» of the
Spirit gradually accomplished in the course of the «coiling» of the Universe, occurs in two tempos
and by two stages — a by slow «evaporation» (individual deaths);
and simultaneously b by incorporation in the collective human organism («the mystic
body») whose maturation will only be complete at the end of Time, through the Parousia.)
