But just because it's originally designed for
body weight training doesn't mean you can't use it with free weights and machines as well - it'll work like a charm for that, too!
For example, rather than training exclusively with dumbbells and barbells exclusively to build strength and power, you might work with kettlebells or do
body weight training as well.
If I had to pick one form of exercise, I would pick
whole body weight training over HIIT, but the best way forward is to do both form of exercise.
