bold text really make the name on this resume stand out.

You may not think it looks that bad, but a lot of the headers are centered or right aligned, some
text is normal or
bolded, some
text is larger than others... it's
really messy.

bolder fonts, but the screen just isn't quite as good as some other ereaders.

So, while I would pull the
text down from the top a bit, and make it wider and
bolder, what I'd
really want to do is zoom in on that rose and maze, maybe make it take up most of or all of the cover (then I could put bands of orange yellow across for the
text).
The 1024 x 768 plastic eInk display looked
really sharp and was a pleasure to look at as
text popped of the screen like
bold letters typed onto paper.
As for the Kindle 3, the
bolder letters of the new Pearl display
really helps make the
text stand out and helps define smaller
text to make it more readable.
And the real danger (for me at least) is that all my cover designs are pretty good, so if the client chooses one and his team likes it (but recommends some big changes like «make the
text bigger and darker and
bolder») everybody will be pretty happy — except me, because my
really brilliant work won't get seen, and the author won't sell as many books (two things that are bad for my business).
Next, make sure your headers are
really headers, not just
bolded or underlined bits of
text.
