Always write
a book blurb in the third person, even if your book's in first person.
You get the benefit of longer product description directly on BN (400 characters is NOT enough for a good
book blurb in my mind), multiple keywords (which so far has been a crock, they haven't gotten it fixed), and the ability to get stuff deal with (usually) much easier than having to go through a third party.

book is set
in a run - of - the - mill suburb, you don't need to introduce the setting — but a complex and futuristic fantasy world should definitely be mentioned

Find the guys and gals who review all the
books in your genre — you know, you see their
blurb on the back of everything you read.

book description but only if they are cited appropriately.
And if they go indie with a story, they are learning how to write

in paper.
Finally, take a look at this

book description that pulls you
in from the first sentence.
All it takes is a few additional sales, delivered by your own great
book blurb that you can write
in mere minutes, to recoup your investment.
Having an irresistible cliffhanger
in your
blurb will make readers want to buy your
book to find out what happens.
Especially with self - published
books, if the author has put
in the effort to have a good cover and
blurb, they must have some skills and / or some determination to do this right.
