It's a very long and
involved process with lots of
cooking but I'm loving the diet and the
book so far.
Her «job»
involves going to his studio, chatting about food, tasting, sourcing ingredients, more tasting, more chatting, some
cooking, more tasting... (I'd be lying if I said I hadn't wanted to beat her to death with my Ottolenghi
book then pretend to be her, but I desisted — she was lovely.
And the best part is there is absolutely no «
cooking» — unless you call opening a can of beans
cooking —
involved so that makes it all the better in my
book.
I found the first
book frustrating because most of the recipes were quite
involved and used ingredients which weren't alway readily available, so I thought that this
book with its Every Day title was going to be an easier way to
cook healthy after work each day.
I learned to
cook as soon as I moved out, I buy all my clothes (and a lot of other things, too) at thrift stores, I rarely take a vacation that doesn't
involve crashing on someone's couch (though I also rock at Priceline's Name Your Own Price hotel rooms), and I make heavy use of libraries instead of buying many
books.
The Vet
Cook Book, for those of you who recall, is an attempt to promote collegiality by collating recipes and stories from veterinarians, nurses, groomers, kennel - hands, doctors, receptionists, counsellers... anyone
involved in our profession.
The best food we eat during our three months in Ubud was while at our
cooking class, so if trying local food is high on your list of things to do on vacation, then
book yourself on the many day trips from Ubud that
involves a
cooking class.
