But the reason I usually
end up whiling away hours in this
paper - lined cave of a room is not the
books, but the back catalogue of magazines.
Near the
end of the 30 - second segment, the «the new Nook by Samsung» gets a shout - out — but then the ad shifts back to good ole
paper books.

end features of the e-reader allows to push the borders.

ending in January 2012, the American Association of Publishers reported that e-
book sales had risen more than 49.4 % in the adult
books category, 475.1 % in the children's and young adult category, and 150.7 % in the religious publications category.5 We at the Pew Research Center's Internet & American Life Project reported that ownership of e-
book readers among adults age 18 and older had nearly doubled from 10 % of the population to 19 % over the holiday gift - giving season at the
end of 2011, and ownership of tablet computers had surged a similar amount.6 In the final week of 2011 the e-
book version of 42 of the top - selling 50
books on USA Today's best - seller
book list was outselling the
paper version of the same
book.7
I found that a lot of the
books I wanted to read are still in
paper; so I
ended up borrowing many print
books.
And when you
end up with that amount of sales on the
book, you will have made on that
book ($ 4.90 x 1,500) $ 7,350 electronic and $ 3,000
paper.
With
paper books, I tend to curl my finger under the next page and I
end up recreating that gesture in iBooks; since the page curls precisely where you «grab» it, the effect is pretty slick.
Amazon has added a finish to the capacitive screen that feels like the
paper stock used in high -
end hardcover
books.
Also, given the «codex» form factor of
books since the
end of the Classical era, with an index and table of contents, I find
paper - and - ink
books quite readily searchable.
As the creators of children's reading apps have all rightfully explained, any avenue to getting a child interested in reading a
book, whether it's on
paper or on a highly - advanced digitized screen, produces the same
end result: a child who becomes a reader.
A Prediction: Since the focus this year for WMG Publishing is getting more and more
books into trade
paper, WMG Publishing will be making far more money from trade paperbacks by the
end of 2012 than from the
books published electronically.
It would break my heart o see an
end to published
paper books.
I don't wish to be negative, but this future - trend tells me that comics
end up the way that Big Little
Books and Pulp magazines
ended up: part of a generational history... When
paper - based comics go by the wayside, so will the interest in the characters of comics.

paper type, and cover designs; and uploaded it to our «
end publishers» at Lulu.

paper books produced by one - stop - shopping firms like Lulu.com, AuthorHouse and iUniverse, which offer everything from design to distribution in a convenient package deal, are a glaring target for anyone inclined to turn up their nose.
I've only paid $ 10 or more for two e-
books, and both were non-fiction reference
books (I
ended up buying three
paper copies of The Paleo Approach).

Ten years from now, both
paper books and dedicated eBook readers will be considered high -
end luxury devices.
If you are like me, one of the things you still miss from the days of
paper books is being able to flip ahead a few pages to see how far it is to the
