A prominent conservative, Bast has been recognized by the State
Policy Network, is a member of the board of the American Conservative Union, and has written a number of
books, including ones titled Why We Spend Too Much
on Health Care and
Climate Change Reconsidered.
Dr. Brulle and Dr. Dunalp have just edited a new
book, which synthesizes some of main sociological analysis
on the
climate change policy debate which is well worth reading by anyone interested in
climate change.
The
book includes chapters
on land use,
climate change, trade
policy, food loss and waste, nutritional health, and social equity.
My lectures included something about
climate change as background material for energy
policy, and I was the editor and one contributor to a
book on socioeconomic dimensions of
climate change mitigation in 1999, but I didn't make any real effort to understand much more about the atmosphere and the physical
climate before retiring.
