So in the spirit of the holiday, I'd like to recount the story of the time my husband Don, then a teenager, shot
some bottle rockets out of his butt, burnt all his arse - hair off, and landed in the ER.

out Science Sparks) and think this would be perfect for warning passers by that
bottle rockets, fizzy stuff and film canisters may come flying over the fence.
The title, «
Bottle Rocket», comes from a rather harmless firecracker that, when lit, takes off in a flash but burns
out quickly without doing any harm.
Neeson, likewise, offers precious little credibility here, though Texas native Wilson (
Bottle Rocket, co-writer of Rushmore) provides a nice reality check as he fills Russ Tamblyn's old shoes from the Wise
outing.
From there they go to hide
out in a New Mexico hotel — and that's where «
Bottle Rocket» goes to die.

Bottle Rocket» then falls into a version of a familiar movie story, in which essentially innocent characters choose, or are pushed into, a life of crime, and find themselves increasingly alienated from society when all they really want to do is hang
out and kill time.

Bottle Rocket» is entertaining if you understand exactly what it is: if you see it as a film made by friends
out of the materials presented by their lives and with the freedom to not push too hard.
Guys like John Singleton -LRB-» 92, «Boyz N the Hood»), Wes Anderson -LRB-» 96, «
Bottle Rocket») and Doug Liman -LRB-» 97, «Swingers») stand
out as the best examples, while others — like Guy Ritchie («99, «Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels») and Spike Jonze («00, «Being John Malkovich»)-- haven't quite had the same success.
