about its health benefits both internally and externally.
A giant, 500 ml, pot of
coconut oil costs between # 10 - 15 and lasts
about two months if you use it as much as I do, so it's so much cheaper than
buying expensive moisturizers etc..
I just
bought some fresh - pressed virgin
coconut oil, unrefined, organic for
about 12.99 30 fl oz..
I have a question
about the kind of
oil used, I
bought an organic naturally refined
coconut oil, would it work the same or as well as an extra virgin kind?

I have read
about the health benefits of
coconut oil, and now I have to get on the stick and
buy some!
When I first read
about the wonderful benefits of
coconut oil, I asked my wife Marianita, who grew up on a
coconut plantation in the Philippines, if there was a more natural way to extract the
oil from the
coconut, so that we didn't have to
buy the refined
coconut oils found in all the stores here in the Philippines.
I made a few changes: I used all plain flour (that's all I had), sheep's milk yogurt (I
bought it to try and it's weird / gross so I made these to use it up), a little bit of
coconut oil in replace of
about a quarter of the butter because I didn't want to open a new packet of butter (I'm just lazy:P), and I used 4 small apples instead of 2 big (gasp!).
There's something almost painful to me
about looking at my fridge overstuffed with produce and knowing that many people — people who might actually benefit from doing an elimination diet — will never have access to the Whole30 materials or the means to
buy mostly organic meats, vegetables, fruits, and new fats like ghee and
coconut oil.
I
buy it by the five gallon bucket and I'm certainly convinced of its quality, but it was great to read
about how their company was formed and all the effort they put into ensuring the most high quality
coconut oil available.

Buying Fractionated
Coconut Oil: I usually
buy mine from doTERRA but have also heard good things
about the Majestic Pure brand.

I even
bought coconut oil and drenched it in everything - for someone eating only 1200 calories a day I used up
about 200 calories on
oil that I probably did nt even actually eat, and I STILL missed my protein goal.

Be careful
about what brand you
buy, because some companies use harsh chemicals to refine the
oil, but I really like Spectrum Naturals refined
coconut oil.
I'm normally not that creative with my meals during the week and resort to chopping up any type of squash that I
bought, covering it with a little
coconut oil spray and some seasonings (either my uncle's variety or thyme) and throwing it in the oven at 350F - 400F for
about 20 minutes.
coconut oil is my go to product for a plethora of things — from moisturizer to cooking — so this gift card could
buy me a pretty little bundle of it (since I go through
about a jar a month!
* For my first batch, I used
coconut oil and
about 25 drops of a soap fragrance
oil that I
bought a couple of years ago to make soap.
