The 3's steering was also second - best to the Ford's, nicely weighted and direct — however, the suspension caused some head
bounce over the pothole - strewn roads of downtown Detroit.

In the same way that it crashed and
bounced over bumps off - road, the suspension sent every crack,
pothole, and imperfection in the road up and into the cabin.
It's a big cushy road car in the grand American tradition, I guess; I was disappointed by both the understeer and the somewhat dated - feeling suspension that seemed to transmit the feeling of
potholes through the otherwise comfortable seats while
bouncing over slightly larger road irregularities.
