Right now, the only widely available treatment for preventing
brain damage from stroke is tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), which breaks
up blood clots; it must be given within a
few hours to be effective, and though it limits initial damage, it doesn't help the
brain restore lost synapses or form new ones.
I'll leave this
up to you, though, dear readers, because I've just had the great experience of «playing» a crappy game for the last
few hours, and find my
brain to be in an hernia of absolute rage and pain.
